I park on the side of the road. As far as I know its a public road. Now I park in front of another house because the sprinklers in front of the house I live in have horrible aim: every morning my car gets sprayed by the dirty water. I have a white car , and to have an entire side covered in dirty water that dryes out and leaves films of dirt on one side is something I like to avoid.
Now the neighbor has taken it upon themselves to delcare the area in front of their house as "Theirs". For NOW I moved it over...but I'm ready to move it back because i'm pretty sure it isn't theirs. I have just as much right to park there as they do.
FYI, i don't intrude on their mailbox, or anywhere near it, I don't even come within 6 feet of their driveway. However, they have a big window on the far side of their house that is closest to the house I live in. I suspect that the lady who lives there feels entitled to get a clear view.
Now AFAIK, she owns the plot and I can't touch that (Duh)...But she doesn't own the road next to the house, so she is mistaken to think it belongs to her.
I'm not asking anyone to do research for me (I can do that, but its nice if you want to help lol), but does anyone know if i should look to federal, state, county or city codes to figure this one out? To make it slightly more complicated, I like in a HOA. I'm just looking for something that states roads are public...but I'm not quite here where to look. I'll start off by reading the HOA agreement, and then work from there.
