Pulls and rows..

yah basically some type of pulldown and some type of row. i also do pullups.

my lats are one muscle that don't really stick out or anything. it's always been one of my less dominant muscles. shoulders have always been my biggest muscle.

How many lbs are you lifting? I have always though my lats and legs were the strongest part of my body (chest is very weak).

depend what I do. i use a hammer strength machine for pulldowns and typically put like 125lbs or so on each side of it. then for rows on the hammer strength I put like 150lbs on each side and I do them 1 side at a time.

What should I do to gain some weight/muscle mass? Don't tell me to eat, b/c I eat junk food and stuff alot, I just never gain weight. Just do some dumbells for a while? How long?

Eat. Then eat some more. Don't stop eating. You will not gain weight/muscle mass unless you eat more food. You currently have an anorexic BMI. Yes, anorexic. You do not eat nearly enough. Don't argue. You are wrong.

lol, I have no doubt I have an anorexic BMI, but I'm not anorexic or bilemic or any of that crap. Heck, I don't even jog or anything. I just have amazing genes (for now)

Anyway, I'm thinking 10lb dumbells on each to get started?

Amazingly bad, maybe (e.g. thyroid issues). It's more likely you have conditioned yourself to eat way too little. You may not have anorexia nervosa (the mental disorder), but you ARE anorexic. Being that thin is just as dangerous as being morbidly obese.

Starting any kind of weight training or exercise without seriously upping your caloric intake will just make you lose weight and put you more at risk. Go see a doctor. You have a problem.

My estimate one rep maxes are 213, 273, and 321 respectivly, putting me at 807. Only 268 pounds shy of my 5x bodyweight (215) of 1075. Don't think I'll be making the club in six months. Perhaps I'll try actually attaing real world one rep maxes.

I think that record is a lot easier to get if you're shorter. You'd have less weight, and more compact muscles. I can almost do that now, and I'm not going for any kind of record.

Huh? How can you say he has a problem? Couldn't he simply have an extremely high metabolism?

Quintox- Why don't you post a "day in the life of Quintox" in regards to your diet. Take us through a typical food day for you. A lot of people say they "eat alot" and don't realize that, really, they are eating like ******...

Do you do any compound lifts like Bench/Squat/Deadlift?

Not quite sure what "Arnold" presses are...care to enlighten me?

Agreed. Use Fitday to calculate what you eat in a typical day.

aaaaahnold press - lot more difficult than regular dumbell press. I could do several 180lb of those.

I made a mistake in the shoulder workout, I do 80lb dumbells, so 160lbs total.

My routine has a good amount of compound stuff : dumbell bench, lateral pull down, seated rows, chin ups, dips etc.

gains are amazing...the body adapts.

Feed it well and work when you work out.

profit.

I can go from a fatfvck to something that women want to touch in about 3 months. It's almost addicting.

I had an odd injury about 1 year ago now. I tried to stop a 2.5 gallon water jug from falling out of my trunk. I screwed my whole right arm so much it took months of physical therapy to fix and even now I don't feel it's 100%.

I was curling 120-130lbs for reps, doing DB benches with 110lbs in each arm and rows with 250lbs+...at my most injured lifting about 5lbs palm down would cause me to drop it.

I used to hate chin ups, dips, and pull ups. Now I can do 3 sets of 10 chin ups with ease, 3 sets of 10 dips with a 25 pound plate hanging, and 3 sets of 5 pull ups. (Need to work my lats more I guess).

Yeah chin ups with palm facing you are relatively easy and same goes for dips - most guys have decent arms to swing those. Wide grip lateral pull ups (palms facing away from you) hit your lats mad hard. I can only do 6 or 7 in a row tops... and my back is big

No. Being that thin is not natural. I'm not criticizing him. He really does need to seek medical attention. At that height and weight he either has a medical problem (e.g. hyperthyroidism or a hypothalmus issue) or he's just starving himself. There are all kinds of bad things that happen to your body when you are that thin. As I said, it's as dangerous as being morbidly obese.

Please, the odds of him having an abnormal metabolism are miniscule. The problem with peoples' reports of how much they eat are they're entirely subjective. The 400 lb. guy who "doesn't eat much" only eats 2 pizzas at a time. The 125 lb. guy who "eats a ton" takes 2 bites of pizza and doesn't eat again for 3 days. Every time, without fail.

Quintox needs to hit fitday.com and count his calories, he's probably eating ~1500 a day. At 5'10 and 18 years old he probably needs 4k, possibly more if he's still growing.

I used to be skinny, and I used to eat a TON. I'd be the guy who ate 2 pizzas at a time, tons of ice cream, soda, cinnabons, etc. On top of that, I used to take weight gainer. I couldn't gain weight until my 20's. When I got to about 22, I gained weight very fast, so I had to cut down on my food.

You're right. It's much more likely that he's starving himself. A doctor will be able to tell him which is the case and what to do about it.

EVER?

I squatted 475 for a rep, on two seperate occasions, I've deadlifted 425 on several. I've benched 240. Dumbell rows who knows, at this point I'm stacking dumbbells because they don't go very high at my gym, i've done 140 with two dumbbells stacked but think I can do more

I felt like I used to eat like that, but its just not possible. Maybe you ate one huge meal a day, but right now I'm eating 5+ "meals" a day plus weight gainer, and its still barely enough to hold me steady.
