If I've heard correctly, "50 Cent" got his name from a half-dollar bet between Dr. Dre and Eminem on whether they could literally take some no-name and turn him into a star. The beginning and end of the "In THe Club" video kinda reinforce that notion. If anything, I'll agree that the beats can be rather addictive. ("P.I.M.P." is the current track of choice here in D.C.)

But, if you want to be caught totally off-guard, listen to some of the one-liners Ludacris drops in his many guest appearances. Sometimes, you will just start laughing in disbelief. "I can't believe he just sad that in a rap song!"

Here are some lyrics from one of his songs (Wankster), "mummmmbleeee mumble mumble tub mumble muuuummmmmble love mummmmble mumble, i suck mummmmble mumble club mummble mumble."

I think those are the lyrics.....

I like rap (Eminem, Snoop, Busta, Dre, Tupac.....) but the new guys seem to suck. All they do is mumble in a monotone voice.

Oh well......

Hmmm, you just described my opinion of ALL hiphop and rappers....

50 Cent once punched Ja Rule outside a club and stole his jewelry.. that's enough for me to like him

Ja Rule sucks so many donkey balls that its getting ridiculous. Id like 50 cent to take a 2x4 and slap that mickey mouse smile of ja's face

That's what I feel like doing every time I hear one of his (Ja Rule's) songs. Blech!

Haven't heard much of this 50 cent dude but I heard of that one song obviously. If that eminem/dre halfdollar thing is true that's pretty interesting.. :p

You do realize that when he was shot 9 times, he got shot in the mouth, which has something to do with why he can't talk.

I like his song "in da club," but besides that I dun like much else.

WTF. Someone shot that bastard nine times and still didn't kill him?

Three shots is all it should ever take.

Hey, you try hitting a moving target while holding your glock sideways... its not easy, and there are a lot of holes on the outside edge of the target

If you listen to his interview on raptism he says the name 50 cent is a metaphor for change, I guess from being a street thug to legit rapper. Or something like that.

Are you talking about Thug Love? Because there is a version of that song that has Eminem in it.

I've only heard it once and didn't notice but it wouldn't really surprise me.
