Yamaha 24x Burner @CC B&M 19.99 after rebate

i think i scored the last one at CC in Woodland Hills, CA 🙂 tag showed price of $79.99 but it rang up at $49.96 along with the $30 rebate.

No 24x in Houston.....found a 20x by asking a sales person to check in the warehouse....it rang up as 39.96. Went ahead and grabbed it since it still had an 8mb buffer with SafeBurn & ripped audio at 40x. If anything, I can use it as a straight cdrom. 🙂

Just a quick comment to help clarify some issues I had with my Circuit City. They told me the rebate was only good on the CRW3200EZ which they said was a 32x model. It IS Not. For whatever reason, Yamaha gave the 24x models the product number CRW3200EZ. I fell for this initially because I thought the model number would have a 24 in it (i.e. CRW2400EZ) but it does not.

Another bonus........box states that this drive supports MT. Rainier recording. I do not believe any of my other drives (mostly 24x Lite Ons) do!

This drive is AWESOME, love the blue light. It burns hella fast, and at this price, I'm sure they're gonna go fast. It is a bit noisy when reading from the drive, however, when burning it's not as bad.

My local CC had 83 of these in stock. I got there just in time to see some guy from fatwallet forums haul off all 83 of em. :|
I hope the guy gets a flat tire! No good hoarder!

Thanks ScaFaceL4. I picked one up yesterday in Virginia. It was an open box and it contained 2 CD's and 1 CDR, the Ahead and Adobe CD's and a blank CDR (plus the data and audio cables and a manual). How many CD's were in a "sealed box"?

I've had mine for about 8 months but from what I remember, I think that was it.

I have discovered that these are carried at H.H. Gregg also. They will price match. There are 2 at the Eastgate-Cincinnati store.

Hallo, I'm a newcomer to AnandTech, and this deal was just unbelivably awesome! My own Yamaha 4260 of aobut 5 years is about to bite the dust... and this would be the perfect replacement! To get to the begging part of this post... could someone please pm or email me a copy of the receipt as well? Email address is j25chen@ucsd.edu, thanks a bunch~

Just came back from the Circuit City Chain Store in Serramonte, Daly City, California. The staffs there are either computer-illiterate and/or they don't know how to use a computer. I asked if they have the yamaha 24x in stock. Nope, it should be on the shelf. Asked another staff to do a look-up, instead, she walks to one of those broadband booth and lookup circuit city website for it. Asked another person to check the back, she refused to because she said there isn't any. After 15 minutes of waiting, i left. Just not worth waiting or to search for the right salesperson to lookup in the
f--k--g Circuit City own inventory database.

Going to try the Van Ness store tomorrow.

This is definately an amazing deal... we use these drives at work, and they're sooo wonderful. The little blue LED is just icing on the cake 🙂. My CC doesn't have them, but I got Best Buy to guarantee me a pricematch on the receipt if I can get it. Would it be possible for somebody to e-mail or PM a copy of the receipt? E-mail eheaton@stny.rr.com

-Thanks
