ok rant time...got pulled over for one of my four taillights being out...turns out license was suspended...convinced the cop to let me use his cell phone to call my mom and get her to come get my car...sat in jail for a total of 8 minutes waiting on the bondsman...cost 75 to get out...it'll be 229 for the driving under suspension ticket...plus i'll probably have to pay off the rest of the ticket that caused the suspension, 115 dollars there...but i had made a payment arrangement to pay 50 on the 2nd of each month until it was paid off...made payment on the 3rd...have a reciept for it...my license should never have been suspended to begin with...i have to call the dmv tomorrow and the county where i actually got the original ticket to find out what the hell happened...and i'll probably have to pay 75 to get my license reinstated...

tally for the evening:
75 get outta jail
229 suspension ticket
115 pay off ticket that caused the suspension
75 reinstate license

494$ grand total

cliffs notes

1. went to jail for driving under suspension
2. sat in jail 8 minutes, paid 75 to bondsman to get out
3. license was suspended for a ticket i had already made a payment on
4. have to pay a total of 494$ over this little incident
5.profit?!?!?!?!?!?!??????

UPDATE: well...i just got back from trying to get this taken care of...according to the court clerk they have no payment arrangement order from the judge...so i had to pay the rest of the ticket in full...will have to talk to dmv on monday to pay to get my license back...i have to talk to the judge on tuesday to see why my payment arrangement isnt on file...the way all this is going...he probably wont have written it down and i'm just stuck paying everything...grrrr

i was just getting caught up on all my bills too...argh...back to the hole again

You're a moron for driving with a suspended license. You should have your license permanently revoked. Be happy you got off with 500.

Just because you pay your fine doesn't mean it automatically gets unsuspended.

Doesn't matter whether you receive it or not, it's still suspended if they suspend it. And what do you mean that you didn't owe them anything until the next month? You still owed money from an infraction and you expect them to say "mkay here's yer license back yall"?

i made an arrangement with the judge whenever i first went in to court for the ticket...i didnt want to have to pay it all at once so i set up payments...i paid $50 on the spot and was going to continue with $50 a month until a last payment of $65 and be done with it

And did you receive your license back after paying the ticket off in full before driving again? Doesn't sound like it. Boohoo.

Are you just trolling tonight?

It's common to make payment arrangements on tickets.

His license was suspended as if he had missed one of his payments, where in reality he did not.

OP: You probably should have had the payment in by the last business day in December to be safe, but maybe they'll cut you some slack.

i'm really hoping that i'll talk to them tomorrow, they'll realize a mistake has been made and will reinstate my license over the phone and they'll reimburse me for what i spent to get outta jail and void the ticket i just got...but i figure at best i can get the ticket voided and my license back...the money i spent to get outta jail is probably just gone...

EDIT: but 75 dollars is a hell of a lot better than 494 :D

EDIT2: well 75 plus the cost of the original ticket...which kind of ironically, i got for not having my license with me...

EDIT3: spelling

EDIT4: enough with the editing already...

For what it's worth, I got a speeding ticket for 52 in a 30 and it was $260 with a valid license and no other fines. For you to be less than double, That isn't too bad.

I think it stinks that you got a ticket for a suspended license that shouldn't have been suspended.

But having said that, you might want to think about why you seem to have so many troubles. On the verge of losing your job for chronic lateness, multiple traffic tickets... something to think about.

moral of the story: don't leave to work at the last minute. give yourself adequate time, even if that means waking up earlier.

Wow.

well considering in the first two years i had my drivers license, i racked up double digit tickets...i'm not going to say how many exactly...kinda embarrassed of my stupidity actually...lets just say it was more than 20...purposely got my license suspended 3 times to reset my points...yeah it was bad...but im paying for it now...450 a month for insurance...and it just went down from 586...after a couple years of good driving my insurance should be about 200 or so a month...but for now i'm paying for my idiocy in my teenage years
