For Christmas my fiancée bought me Oakley sunglasses which were about $125 since I lost my pair. I asked her to return it because I rather save up and use that money and buy a TV and I was sure I would be able to find my old Oakleys.

For my birthday, she bought me a 30GB Photo Ipod because I wanted to use it in her old car since the cd player wasn't in working condition and I was selling my car. I have thought about it and am not sure if I really need the Ipod so am thinking about selling it.

For our anniversary, she just bought me a Sony PSP and I don't think I'll use it as much. Its nice and all but the only games I've been playing are on the computer and my Xbox. So I'm thinking about telling her to return it because I want to save up for a laptop computer.

Am I an ungrateful dick?

Uhm, if you want to save up, would you take $50 for her phone number? I'll happily pay you $50 for the number of a female that buys her man hip gadgets.

I see nothing wrong with what you did. You are being pratical.

Oakley - overpice & overhype
Ipod - overpice & overhype
PSP - overhype

If there are something you think you will not use, why waste money on them. Take for example, she likes to play WoW. Return that PSP and use that money for a WoW account & a new video card. Then you 2 will have much fun together.

yea man.

i still remember the times when i used to buy my father gifts for his birthday (when my brother and i were young). he would return them b/c he didn't need them and give us back our money.

it really sucked the fun out of doing anythign for him and after a while we just stopped buying him anythign for his birthday.

appreciate what she's gotten you and just use the gift. she got you some AMAZING things. enjoy them. it doesn't matter whether you need them or could use the money in better ways.

you are a dick man. dick = you, you = dick. ;)

Learn to be considerate. My g/f bought me a printer scanner combo for my birthday b/c my scanner bit the dust. Wasn't the best scanner peinter combo in the world, but it works and I a not complaining. As always, it's the thought.

This is why I don't buy anything for my husband. I let him pick out his own gifts and buy them.
