But, seriously, why is the 'old' relationship on and off again? Fights? Incompatibility? Fear of commitment? Think that one through before you toss her aside completely for someone you don't know. And, one more thing, if the new one is already introducing you to her kids...well...that's just not a very smart thing to do if you just met.

but seriously, I am concerned about the kid thing. It sounds like you've met the kids already. You didn't give a time frame of how long you knew the women before you met the kids. How long was it? IMO a person should always hold off on meeting the kids/being introduced as a boyfriend type thing until you are sure you are wanting to stick around/get serious.
It can really mess with the kids minds if they see daddy or mommy with different partners.

mel i had lived with for about 2 years. herr boys are 5 and 9
jill has a 1 1/2 year old boy and a 13 yr old girl. i know she started rreally young.
the boys are my buds! always will be. and they have no illusions as to who i am.
met a sleeping baby basically on the other one. her daughter was out for a sleepover with a frriend for the weekend with herr dad
