The guy might need closure, have her write a Letter of Dismissal. The letter should contain:
1. a statement of release from all promises and obligations, stated and implied
and
2. a reason for dismissal (state no reason if none is there)
Just like getting fired from a real job! If I ever got dumped I would want a letter of dismissal. It puts everything out in the open and leaves no room for ambiguity. It's written proof that it is OK to hit on her friends too!
Leave the guy alone, he just needs time to figure things out. and what if he beats you up?
