Well, here's the story:

I have a friend who recently showed interest in me, and I reciprocated it. So, we're going to start dating in the very near future. Well, maybe we will anyways.

See, there's a problem. She's best friends with her ex-boyfriend, and she just loves to talk about the guy with me. I've told her that it makes me uncomfortable and that it's inappropriate, but then she gets mad and says "but he's my best friend!". Here's the thing: they're still having sex. So here is this girl, coming onto me, but meanwhile she's off screwing her ex-boyfriend. Not only that, but she expects me to TALK about this person and somehow CARE? Give me a break! She even says she expects me to hang out with the two of them when they're "hanging out" together "as friends".

So. My question is: Does this relationship seem doomed for failure before it even begins? Am I blowing this way out of proportion and getting upset about this for no reason at all?

Any suggestions would be great, and please no flames or trolling.

She's fvcking this guy and saying you will be going out soon? Yeah, that's not one I'd stick around for.

I never really believed this statement applies, but in this case...

If you have to ask... it doesn't look good.

Seriously ... do you think she will stop thinking about him ? NO.

OK thanks guys. It's obvious, and you all have confirmed what I feared. I'm not going to talk to her anymore. It'll just be awkward getting those emails asking me WTF is going on. Maybe I'll just block her.

I wouldn't block her outright, I'd explain to her why you don't want to pursue it... then run like hell.

I don't know what your problem is, if you're secure with yourself, why can't she have friends that she fvcks occasionally? I mean I've been with lots & lots of women since you asked, and I'm making lots of money now & I'm well respected, but that moving away from the original subject that I'm eminently able to answer decisively for you because of my vast experience with relationships & the many many women I've slept with (I didn't mention that did I?). But if you're secure, there's no harm in a woman keeping her old BF that she's slept with because it's all relative, morals are an artificial construct, especially for someone like me.

Have I mentioned I've had exra marital affairs with my wife's friends & how much money I make & how fvcking cool I am?

Cliff notes:

She'll screw around on you, if you're interested in monogamy & exclusivity, you're looking in the wrong place with this one.

It's really not worth the trouble. Plenty of other women in the sea. Drop her now before you get steamrolled later. If she is still having sex with her ex, she will never truly be yours. I dont think you are blowing this out of proportion at all. Hell, if I found out a girl I was dating was still having sex with the ex, I'd drop her fast cuz that's a sure sign of (future) drama right here.

Well, I've actually been @ that place in my head a time or 2. Not for some time though. I think the excessive use of alcohol & hallucinogens didn't help me;)
