YAGT: So I'm gonna ask a question tomorrow night

So, tomorrow night, I'm picking her up, and am gonna ask if "we are a couple?" or "will be you be my gf?" or something along those lines. I'm not sure yet. Anyways, my friend suggested I get her a stuffed animal, one of her favorite animal, then put a note in it's paws or flippers, and give it to her as that. Now, from what I've heard from many sources (including her best friend), it's a guranteed KO. So my question is this, what would be a nice cute way of writing "will you be my gf" without writing it that way? BTW, in case anyone was wondering, the animal is a shark.

Don't be a dork. Introduce her to someone as your girlfriend. "Hey Mike, have you met my girlfriend, Steve?" (or whatever "her" name may be.) See how she reacts. If she smiles, everything is okay. If she seems pissed, then she probably isn't your girlfriend.
