New barrel, new firing pin, looks ready to go to me.

As somebody else said, don't know how many rounds before the weakened frame rails let go, but it looks like there's still enough material there for the slide to cycle correctly.

PS: I still don't like you.

hard to tell but it looks like they cut the breach face also. it looks slanted.

OK awesome, that's good to know in the event of a zombie attack.

PS: I don't care.

How would that effect it?

Here's a pic of an intact/unmodified breech face: http://50ae.net/collection/1911a1/1911a1-42-cs.jpg

a) its what the cartridge seats up against
b) the firing pin comes out of that little hole

I'm no gunsmith but it might cause feeding problems. Might cause ejection issues as well. Not sure what would happen if a round were actually to be fired if half the breech face is missing.

Lol next in the UK screw drivers will be illegal and plumbers/electricians will be fixing houses with butter knives, killing 50x more people on the job than were killed by screw drivers, haha lol.

Hal, I'm a bit weirded out that the first thing you did when you got the deactivated gun was to find out how to activate it (or de-deactivate it?).

Actually the first thing I did was to find out the history behind it here then once I had done that I wanted to know how it had been modified :) People on the 1911 forum seemed interested swell so I started looking. Then I posted here.

UPDATE

Deactivated Pistol, they are legal to own in the UK, and I think it would be fun, I love guns (despite my feelings on the morality of owning working one) So I'd love something to fiddle with while sat at my desk, or to wander around the house with and aim at the cat (bloody cat)

I'm looking for something aesthetically pleasing, and cheap, potentially with the ability to add / change bits, from sights to grips.

I'm sure you guys don't know the price of deactivated guns in the UK, but if it's expensive when it's active, then it's just as expensive deactivated.

Seems like the cheapest deactivated guns to buy are Russian AK's, but I'm thinking a pistol.

My personal favourite looking guns are:

Walther PPK's (I wish I was James Bond)
1911's
Glock 18/19's
Beretta 92F's

Please note I don't know that much about guns, compared to you guys, so any info is welcome.

Also, If you have come into this thread to argue about morality / gun ownership / laws in the UK or just about any other loosely related / unrelated subject please feel free to PM me and we can discuss it until your heart is content.

This one time a troll trolled and he was obvious.
