Main site.. I'd like to see a lot more on how well it handles use before I threw that much on it. I'm just not sold on the need, let alone how well it works.

It looks like the holster for this thing is an outside the pants type. If you are really concerned about printing then you would carry your weapon inside the pants which that holster doesn't look like it would work for.

Having the internals of the pistol and the rounds in the magazine open to dirt and debris would be another concern, and then you have to assemble the pistol before you can get a shot off. Can you even carry it with a round in the chamber and ready to shoot (after assembly) or do you need to rack the slide before you get the first shot off?

Lastly you have the durability of the hinge and locking mechanism that keeps the pistol together to worry about. All for about 3x what the pistol alone would cost. Nothing about this thing makes me want.

Depends on bullet type, expansion, velocity and the composition of the target. On paper the bullet would just punch a neat hole the size of the bullet unless the bullet was tumbling.

Anybody own one of the Remington 1911 R1 .45acp, R51 9mm, RP9 9mm, or RM380 .380 pistols? Remington has $100 rebates going on right now and great deals are floating around.

I know the R51 had some early production problems that have been fixed. Reviews are mixed on some of these pistols, but folks who actually own one seem to be mostly pleased with the price vs performance.

With four mags the RP9 looks like a great deal but according to reviews it needs either a break in period or to be taken apart and have the feed ramp polished. I'm not the biggest fan of the .380 as a round, but modern loads for it have gotten so much better. $99 for a little pocket gun isn't too bad. A lot of folks are saying a month or less on the rebate.

I had a pump action Remington .22LR as a kid and have fond memories of it. I always thought of them as a quality brand but it seems there reputation has taken a bit of a hit since.

the rem 1911 is a steel full size 45 , loaded it will feel like a 3 lb dead weight . Remingtons are US made guns , good ,well made guns . . For $500 with a $100 rebate you are not getting a match grade gun , But an Ed Brown($2k and up) or a Kimber($900+)or a Dan Wesson all cost a lot more . The Remington imho is a better starting point than Rock Island or any other off shore 1911 guns . I had a series 70 Colt that I sold,should have kept it , it too was a steel full size 1911 . Fun guns , go for it .

I did the American federal ammo rebates....got 1 box of 420 rounds and then did 17 boxes of 20 round (all in 5.56 55 gr from PSA)...

I have to cut out the dang UPC on those 17 boxes

in the future, if there is a rebate, just order big boxes and avoid these 1st world problems...LOL

I have a CAA micro roni stabilizer for my glock 19 that should arrive any day, along with the flashlight for it, the thumb rests, and a set of magpul mbus sights to mount on it. I found a sale on them for pretty cheap on Reddit gundeals on a New Years sale and I could not resist. I am hoping everything arrives on Tuesday, it has been on the move for a while after being shipped out from Israel.

The new micro roni for my G19 -

It just arrived from Israel today. I also got the 500 lumen light kit for it and the thumb rests, along with some mbus sights from primary arms that were cheaper than the CAA sights. I had to remove the talon grips and take the backstrap off of my G19 to get it to latch in place, but that is not that big of a deal. The silencerco threaded barrel in my Glock fits just fine without the thread protector, however I need to find a longer barrel to go all the way through the barrel shroud, or where the shroud sticks out of the roni, so I can attach my suppressor. Folded it does fit into the center console of my pickup, which is a nice feature.

Yup, it's a double-action. Unless it's a DAO (double-action only) gun, I suppose you could cock the hammer manually for single action. If you can get a thumb on that tiny hammer spur. Better to just point and pull the trigger, probably. Five quick squeezes would empty the gun.

Revolving rifles have been a thing going back to black powder days. Most of those were single action guns you had to cock to fire each chamber. A swing out cylinder and double-action like on this shotgun would be a big improvement over that.

I just wanted to share this link of high res photos of some of my favorite guns. I have a thing for black power and older guns, single shot rifles and such. I own a Pietta reproduction of a Remington 1858 New Army .44 black powder pistol and a 1873 Cattleman Hombre Single Action Army in .38/.357. Either the 1851 Navy or 1860 Army is probably going to be my next purchase.
