someone does not want me to get a rifle....

just stepped out the door to go to the FFL to pick up the rifle for the 6th time and I get a text from the FFL. The background check system is down now.

Saw a rail upper with BCG and CH for $300 with free shipping on PSA today. Add that with the $140 lower with free shipping and you could get a decent rail AR15 for less than $500.

Did some arts and crafts tonight with some enamel paint and the receivers for my two next builds -

Nice. I've done the same thing on my AR and some other guns with grease pencils. It's not permanent (holds up better than I expected tho) but a lot easier than paint.

Looks good.. how much a pain was the painting?

The painting wasn't so bad on areas where there is just one color, I just used s toothpick to drop paint into the grooves, squeegee it the excess away, let it dry for 15mins or so, and then wipe and clean the area with hoppes #9 and lots of paper towels and q-tips.

However, getting the lines on the badger colored in white white and tan and keeping the colors from mixing was a pain in the ass. Especially on the ears and the close white and tan lines on the eye brow. Took some time with the fine brushes to get those to look good

I really need to order a Liberty Cosmic or Mystic X from Silencer Shop before the end of June (planning on using their trust service too).

Rifle looked good so I took it home. Just put the scope on and bore sighted it.

not sure when I'll get to shoot it. maybe Monday morning.

I'm thinking about getting a suppressor very soon. None of my pistols have threaded barrels except my 22/45 Lite. But I think for my P226 .40 S&W and Springfield Range Officer 1911, at least, getting a threaded barrel should be do-able.

So... does anyone know where I can start looking for a threaded barrel for those pistols? Thanks much.

Shot the Tikka this morning and i think i have a keeper. All groups were 1" or less at 100 yds with good ammo. It was hot and i was rushed so i think it could do better when taking time.

For your sig - https://www.efkfiredragon.com/sig-sauer-threaded.html

.40 p226 threaded barrels seem a bit hard to find, but you can get a silencerco model in 9mm, which is what I use in my p226 legion.

For your 1911 - http://www.storm-lake.com/featuretour_ne

There might be some fitting needed, but it should not be too hard for the 1911.

Sweet, hope it works out for you.

I've all but given up on finding a used Lone Wolf long slide for my Glock 21 project, will likely just buy new.

Just moved to a state where getting ar/AK is slightly easier. Once I get my nj state fire arm ID I can start purchasing new guns. Fired my friends ar15 this weekend and loved it. Concerned hillary will win this fall and start trying to ban more things, so I'd like to grab an entry level ar and possibly also AK shortly.

For nj, there are restrictions like pinned stock, no Bay lug, no flash suppressor, etc. Is there a best place to find nj legal guns? So far best I can find is armslist.com, but I have used gunbroker and buds in the past. I can always buy an "illegal" one and have ffl make it nj compliant, but that seems more expensive.

Wife and I went to Wyoming earlier this month and shot with some friends. It was her first time shooting. She loved it so much that we're getting an AR15 soon!

Thanks for the links. I'll have to look at what type of ramp my Range Officer has. Hopefully it fits good, I don't really feel like tracking down a gunsmith and having him do work on it.

For the P226, yeah I see the 9mm barrel. I wish I could just throw in a 9mm barrel and shoot 9mm, lol. I don't mind the .40 S&W but it's not like I'm attached to it that much.

As I understand, the fitting for a 1911 is more for getting the barrel bushing to fit with the new barrel properly. There is a chance that it will just drop in and work, but you never know.

So your state can take it away? Those new laws are going to just be painful.

On a lighter note, mailed off rebates totaling $210 from Savage, RCBS, and Remington today.

It is a concern. Luckily I have relatives out of state that I could store them at if it came down to it. We've been thinking about moving elsewhere too.
