Just installed 3.5 lb trigger connectors in my Glocks, really made the triggers a lot smoother.

Gaston Glock was a toolmaker, sort of explains why they're so ass ugly, but damn, they work.

They're a good gun if you're only going to have one or two pistols, if you're into shooting, they're fine, but there are a ton of other great pistols out there, I really like 1911's, but getting one tuned to where I'd be happy with it would take a lot of time & $.

Depends on what 1911 you start with, I think. My Dan Wesson was a little north of $1k at the time (it's the CCO model - aluminum frame, commander/officer sized for carry) - can't really think of any way to change the gun to make it better. Amazing trigger, great fit work done on it and - knock on wood - zero FTFs/FTEs on it using either Speer JHP and generic FMJ.

+P .45 has a nice kick to it, but I only have it as hollow point defense ammo. I also intentionally bought a something A LOT closer to series 70 to make it easier to take down.

That's a sweet pistol. I beat the crap out of my stuff, watching a gun like yours get chewed up with the way I treat stuff would kill me. And my 2 Glocks cost $1000 together.

My carry pistol is a Glock 39, with that wierd ass 45 gap cartridge. 🙂

Nice thing about that ruger is the stainless steel baffles, so you can use the dip method, or stainless steel tumbler media, or ultrasonic cleaning on them. You cannot do that with 22 cans with aluminum baffles, you have to scrub the old fashioned way.

My .22 cans have aluminum baffles, and I have found that applying the frog lube paste to them when they are clean and you re-assemble just helps tremendously with keeping them clean.

I was gonna go and start the paperwork for a suppressor but had second thoughts when I reviewed the suppressors the gun shop had. I was going to get the AAC SDN-762 but decided not to cause I'd much rather have the longer SD-762 for substantially cheaper. The SilencerCo Osprey 45 they have is fricking awesome, of course, though I couldn't use that yet cause none of my pistols have threaded barrels (yet). And I guess I could get the SIG .22LR suppressor they have but jeez, .22LR ammo is still so frickin hard to find I'm not really in a hurry to get a suppressor for it. Bah.

Well... I guess I could still get the Osprey. It's not like I can take the thing home and use it right away, anyway. 😉 Now to find threaded barrels for my 1911, P226 .40, and XD-9.
 
I'm hoping silencer prices come down a bit, with the sale price and the $200 stamp, it's getting to stupid level prices 🙁

Just got 3 lowers and a 10/22 takedown today, took the doggone state 1.5 hours to return my FFL's call.

Trust me I did not pay what everything is selling for now he..he a before Xmas sale... (except the muzzle device which was $45)... I paid $89 for the bolt, $16 for latch and $180 for the lower... So the total was $540 and a little shipping (about $16 total) as of now...:thumbsup:

Silencershop should have all of those barrels, or most of them.

Osprey is kind of old news now though, which is why I got the Ti-Rant 45M. The AAC Ti-Rant 45M, Rugged Obsidian 45, and the liberty cosmic are the new kids on the block. You can always have your dealer order the one you want.

Tis a pity that you aren't in AZ.. I bought one of those a few years back and almost never fire it.. to the point where I haven't in at least a couple of years. It's not a bad gun at all, I just have others that I prefer to fire, even in 22 which is not a caliber I normally do anything with. Just not my thing. It's been on my to-do list for a while to sell it.

It did give me the most embarrassing moment I've had at my club's range though. The ammo I was using had a bad habit of not cycling the slide correctly. This caused a case to not eject. I had to take it apart to get the case out of it. When I put it together, like the brainchild I am, I hadn't put the take down lever back. I pulled the slide back and when I released the entire slide and spring went flying down the range. They had to close the range (it was all indoors) to go walk out and get it. As it was a busy day, I got to stand there apologizing as everyone waited for them to get back out of the lanes and reopen firing. Felt like a complete jackass.

That would raise the price. The gun's not worth enough to go through those dances for. At least I don't think so.. and i'm not willing to go so low that it'd be worth it for him to deal with it all.

Thanks for the info, I'll check out Silencershop.

Hmmm. I'll have to look up those suppressors and see how much they cost compared to the Osprey. Hopefully they're comparable, cause that Osprey is right at my budget limit when I'm considering the tax stamp cost. Also some suppressors need an attachment device/piston too so I'll have to see.
 
Wow, I think I'll just order something from Silencer Shop. Their "Powered by Silencer Shop" program sounds really great. Plus I'd get a way better price than that overpriced LGS (with the dumbass who thinks trusts now require CLEO approval). And those suppressors you recommended, adairusmc, are definitely reasonably priced. Man, the worst/hardest part is gonna be the Form 4 wait!
