Would would anyone legally want an SBR? Or a AR15? Or a .50 BMG?

Some people want it to shoot and be quieter. Some want it so if they shoot inside the home in self defense, they don't go deaf. Some want it because....well, because.
 
I got my threaded barrel for the new Ti-Rant 45M suppressor I bought recently, to fit in my glock 19. Looks nice, fits nice, and the piston for the suppresor I got off of ebay showed up as well. I was able to get my bravo concealment kydex holster to fit the new barrel with just a blow dryer to heat it up and forcing it in there to re-mold.

Not sure where you ever got the idea I do not like guns.

Seems they would be more linked to using subsonic ammo, but yeah is about the same as owning a Barret/AR15 etc.

Even with full power ammo using a suppressor puts the noise down below the 140db OSHA hearing safe limit.

There is absolutely no reason what-so-ever that they are regulated under the NFA and that we cannot just walk into any store and buy one off the shelf, no questions asked. I hope that bill gets some traction, but I am not holding my breath. The ASA does wonderful work though pushing for stuff like that.

Did you just want the standard thread pitch with the SilencerCo barrel? I actually prefer the Glock factory threaded barrel because of its 13.5x1 LH threaded pitch. Feels like it doesn't loosen as easily compared to the standard thread pitch. All my TB pistols are also LH twist so it makes it easy switching hosts. If you had all RH twist TB pistols I can understand going with the SilencerCo or the other 3rd party options.

Yes, I wanted 1/2x28 specifically so I could just buy the one extra piston and be done. All of my 22s are 1/2x28 and the threaded barrel I am going to get for my Glock 43 will be as well. The piston that comes with the tirant will have me covered for the FNX and its thread pitch.
 
NM, it was answered.

I did know anyone even produced left hand twist rifling on barrels, I would have thought LH suppressor threads would be more or less standard.

I guess the Brits did used to make theirs left twist after looking things up a bit.

Ok, finally got to cleaning my suppressors tonight, and it reminded me how much I need an ultrasonic cleaner. Holy crap does it suck cleaning them manually. :/
 
I honestly think that most AR15s are just....AR15s. Getting a really nice once is a waste of money (often) IMO...and it's hard to find a "bad" one. It isn't a 1911 where attention to detail is needed. I'll probably get a lot of hate on this, but an AR15 is the ricer vehicle of the gun world. Most "mods" are pointless beyond their look. (of course, realize that I'm the person who owns a bunch of older guns, and think my model 1897 that was built in 1911 is the coolest thing. It shoots better than some modern shotguns do.)

That said, you can build your own if you have a barrel wrench, torque wrench, vice and a punch set. I helped someone build theirs, and I think we were done in an hour.

the devil is in the details.

anyone can make a decent one, if you are looking for sub MOA stuff though, a 500 buck rifle isn't the best place to start
 
So I went to a gun show earlier today, paid $8 to get in.

Finally was able to get a hold of a Glock 43 in my hand and to be honest, I was not impressed. The gun was just like the G26 (which I have currently) but just "skinner" and a bit "lighter" (I hold both of them side by side unloaded without ammo/mag). The price was $457 plus sale tax so about $495 out the door.

I did check out some 9mm Walthers and they were nice in my hands but expensive, all of them were over $600 and more plus sale tax.

The Springfield XDs (9mm) were a bit "too heavy" on top for me.

Another thing, I did check out the new (gen. 2) Kel-Tec Sub2000 9mm for Glock mag but the price was too high, $650 plus sale tax for a $500 MSRP gun. No go for me.

Thanks to all comments about AR15. I think the barrel is the most important part of the AR15, that's why I got a CHF, chrome lined, and all the good stuff upper from PSA last year.
