That is a good deal, I think I paid 500 for mine but I got a good deal too because the shop didn't know it had night sights, which are usually 70-80 more.

One thing to consider, is that unloaded without the mag the full-size is about 2oz heavier, add the mag and 5 more rounds and it's quite a heavy piece. If you have a quality belt this probably won't be an issue, but my 9c is right at the weight/size limit I'm willing to lug around with me.

I typically open carry the XD (WA state has nice open carry laws) but I want to switch to IWB for certain, more popular trails.

Any suggestions for the 2? As a WA and Utah concealed permit holder I should know more about this... ugh.

I got a N82 Tactical original holster for my xds. Find it to be super comfortable. And as a skinny guy it conceals pretty dang well. I've worn it all day doing things and it never has bothered me. For 40 bucks its a pretty dang good deal in my mind when others are paying 80+ for theirs. Just another option for ya

The problem with a 25 yard zero is that you still have a 9"+ deviation in bullet flight over line of sight that you have to remember. For irons, this is fine aiming at center mass until about 350 yards. But if your target is watermelon sized at 165 yards, you're going to miss high now nearly every time.

I understand why the corps use a 300y/m zero, but it's institutional inertia and knowing that their average leatherneck really isn't a shooter at heart and won't remember to use hold overs because they don't really understand ballistics (and zeroing at 25 yards is waaay easier than actually shooting to 300).

For irons, fine, zero at 200 or 300. Travis Haley's latest carbine video actually has some nice visuals for each of the zeros on a man shaped target showing the groupings with 5.56 at 25-50-100-200-300-400-500. It's hard to do a hold over on irons since they'll obscure the target beyond 100 yards.

But for any kind of optic, zero at 100 and learn your dope / hold-overs/unders.
 
Has anyone here shot both the CZ 75 and p01? I've rented the 75 and liked it but I would kind of like to have a smaller gun that could be carried if needed which is what got me looking at the p01. However some of the reviews I have seen on the p01 have complained about the trigger having a long pull on double action which is not something I noticed on the 75 (it may have been there though which is why I am asking).
 
Any good websites/stores for a good IWB carry belt? I have a decent belt now but I don't think it's stiff enough, expe silly because I am probably going to buy the full size m&p.

I'd prefer to go to the range with two bikini models feeding me grapes and beer while I shoot, but we can't always get what we want. There's only two outdoor ranges around here, both run by their respective counties, and both tremendously overrun with the recent craziness. I could show up at 7am for a range that opens at 9am, and proceed to have a 2 hour wait (after 9am) before I get range time. If I'm lucky.

And those ranges only go out to 100 yds.

I just don't have the time currently to do that, especially first time taking the rifle out.

There's also the Palm Beach Sheriff's range which is open to the public one weekend/month, and that goes out to 300 yds. Not going anywhere near there until some of the madness dies down. If Markham and Trail Glades are overrun on the weekends when they are open 7 days a week, I can't imagine what that range is like.

I'll suck it up, fire a few rounds off at an indoor range to confirm everything is ok, and then wait it out for some better outdoor time.

The (+S)P-01 DA trigger pull length is actually lessened vs the 75B because the grip is a little narrower at the top. Really awesome grip. I guarantee you will like it. I should mention its not really that small. Its probably got a bulkier profile than the 75B because it has a rail but its shorter. It's got an aluminum alloy frame so its lighter.

Should the P-01 be similar to the SP-01? I realize it's a compact instead of a full size like the 75b and SP-01 but I wanted a smaller gun that could double as a ccw if I needed it.

Wowza, $90 bucks? Any chance I could buy it for cheeper on ebay or amazon?

Also, the local gun dealer doesn't carry the crossbreed, the comp-tac or Old faithful IWB holsters. So basically I will just have to guess which one will be best. I can read reviews and watch youtube vids all day, but I won't really know. Mainly just looking for safety and comfort.

I really like the Olf Faithful 30 day challenge wear they say wear the holster for 30 days and if you don't think it's the best you've worn, they give you your money back AND you can keep it. What's the catch? Because why not just say you hate it, even if you love it. Free holster! lol Also, Would it be worth me saving $35 on that kit and assembling it myself? That'd be $35 more toward that expensive ass gun belt.

I posted in a bunch of different forums and some people even took measurements for me (people who had both). Anyway, they said it feels similar, but I didn't believe them, but I figured I'd just go for it anyway (SP-01) since it had everything I wanted. The SP-01 and the P-01 feel almost (if not absolutely) identical. The P-01 is lighter but they both balance about the same and the grip is the same. Fuckin awesome.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was hoping to hear.

I completely understand researching stuff thoroughly, I normally do it too. I was leaning towards the S&W M&P9 after shooting it the FNX-9, Sig p226, and 92fs as well as holding a G17 but after renting the CZ 75 I knew I wanted it or one of it's derivatives.
 
I got my order from SGAmmo for my 4 bricks of 22lr of CCI yesterday. I am not happy with it though. The 4 "bricks" of CCI were in a cardboard brown shipping box. The brown shipping box was perfectly fine and undamaged. I opened the box, and looked at the 4 boxes of CCI ammo in there. 3 looked to be in perfect condition. The fourth one was smashed to hell. Bullets were pulled of their casings, gun powder was everywhere, and I am a bit pissed now at SGAmmo for shipping that box to me. It's obvious that someone on their side put that smashed box of CCI in with the rest of my shipment. It was NOT something damaged during shipment to me as no other CCI boxes were messed up nor was the outer brown shipping box damaged in any way. I'm not even sure if the other rounds from the other 3 boxes of the CCI are safe to shoot with how the gun powder from the 4th box got everywhere.

I sent them an email bitching about it.
 
Well, I ran out of bullets when reloading .45 ACP this morning, I will have to find some more as I still have a few thousand pieces of brass that are doing nothing, and my OCD flares up bad when I have brass that isnt loaded.

Not to bad for a couple weeks on a turret press though. Dont have my dillon set up for .45 ACP.

The latest batch in the blue bin are using 230g RN bullets, with 4.6g of titegroup and an OAL of 1.260. Very accurate load.

The others in the bags are mostly 200g plated RN bullets on 5.5g of W231, and there are 50 or so Hornady XTP 230g HP rounds in there loaded with 4.8g of titegroup.

Should be set for .45 ACP for at least a little while. Time to move on to 9mm again since I am out of .45 bullets.

I spent 60 bucks for a nice Galco belt at my local gun store. I like it, sturdy. Will be wearing it every day.
 
I've given up on buying ammo at retail B&Ms. Low availability and quantity limits mean it's not worth my time.

Picked up another 800 rounds of Norinco 7.62x39 from a private seller. Bought a Spike's ST-22 upper (now I need to decide whether I should sell my Sig 522 SWAT), and I traded my Gen4 G17 for a Gen3 G34. I also have one drum mag for the ST-22 on the way, along with a couple dozen 40-rounders for my AK.

I prefer a 50/225 zero for a 16" 556. Much flatter for the useful effective range of the weapon and caliber.

If I have to hit past 225 I'm going for the M1A, G3, or .300WM bolt gun.

thebeltman.net High quality handmade belts, his stuff is top notch. Quality gun belts aren't cheap. But they will make carrying much more comfortable, keep it better concealed, and last many many years. You're getting your monies worth from him.


I've finally had some magazine orders start to ship. A ten pack from Magpul direct, a ten pack of PMAGs from Brownells, and a 6 pack of D&H GI's from PSA. I've got another order of PMAGs from DSG, think I'm going to cancel that one or may let it ride a resell them.

I ordered mine online and yes it did hurt paying that much for a belt. Then I thought if I dont like it I can sell it locally and get my money back. Plus I bought 2 "gun" belts last year that did hold up. The Comp-Tac is holding up and is comfortable.

I'd buy the kit and save the $$

I am just the opposite, I would rather get a gun blown up by factory ammo.

I had a glock 23 blow on me, blew the extractor and mag out of the gun using speer gold dot ammo. Turns out it had a recall, but the place I bought it from never got the notice years before and had it in stock all that time (small hardware store).

Speer readily admitted that they had a problem with the brass on that batch and they thought they had accounted for all of the bad ammo. The G23 went back to glock and was fixed at Speers expense, and they gave me 4 boxes of ammo in return for the two boxes of recalled ammo that I had. Never got hurt on that one though, just scared the crap out of me. Sold the gun once I got it back from Glock too.
