Great post. I am your size exactly. The thing is, he is giving me a great deal on the firearm, plus he is giving me 100 rounds of ammo, for free. So basically I am getting the firearm, plus the mags and case, PLUS 100rd of high qual ammo, for $490. His gun is used, but never fired, so basically it's brand new. Right now my dealer will sell me an m&9c for $530, but I dont get the ammo, which is impossible to find right now.
I am going to look into that comp-tac because my plan was to go with the crossbreed. Glad I asked for advice.
Also, the m&p9c feels a tad small for my hands, even with that extender mag being used. I just don't like my pinky hanging off, I don't feel like I have control. Also, the shield felt too narrow and skinny in my hand, almost glock-like feel to it. I shot the G19 and I really didn't like it. Shot the m&p better.
That is a good deal, I think I paid 500 for mine but I got a good deal too because the shop didn't know it had night sights, which are usually 70-80 more.
One thing to consider, is that unloaded without the mag the full-size is about 2oz heavier, add the mag and 5 more rounds and it's quite a heavy piece. If you have a quality belt this probably won't be an issue, but my 9c is right at the weight/size limit I'm willing to lug around with me.
