a nice reflex sight or low mag scope, co-witnessed backup iron sights, angled foregrip (i prefer it over vertical), extended and ambidextrous charging handle, maybe a flipper for the ping pong paddle on the opposing side

Well crap I lost out on a 50 cal rifle...:\

But I did get parts for another AR15 (but need more parts...)

Getting the itch to get a scout rifle. Anyone have one (or more) they like? ~$1500?

I like my ruger gunsite scout .308, but I like it even more after trying it with a suppressor. Just wish I had the stamp back for mine. Should be any day now.

But the ruger scout is very nice for the money, with the burris scout scope I have on it.

Adairusmc, could you please enlighten me on how you managed to mount your vertical foregrip to the lower front end of your m1a. Did you add a picatinny? If you did, could you please give me an instruction?

Sorry I did not see this until now.

I used a magpul MOE rail section, and a file to flatten down the stock. I then just drilled holes through the stock to fit the screws and backplate too, which cleared any contact with the rifle with no problem. Then I just bolted the AFG on there.

Good to hear the endorsement, I was actually looking at that specific rifle.

I don't have experience with them but they Steyr Scout is now under 1500 and I believe I've read that Mossberg is/will be making a scout version of their MVP.

The state of Louisiana will have zero sale tax on all guns/ammo/and related stuffs this Labor Day weekend. Time to make a short drive and stock up. Will save about 8-9%.

I'm fascinated by this new rifle from Ruger. If someone ends up with one, please let me know if you like it.

The Bass Pro Shop in Louisiana was taking orders for this rifle. The price was $1010 out the door (no sale tax because of 2A sale this weekend).

Cool headed to Louisiana...😉

Come on down. Academy will open until 10 p.m. Central time tonight.

Glock G43 was no where to be found at Academy and Bass Pro. Look like the G43 is selling out for now.

If I could get that rifle for 1010 out the door, I'd do a dance.

Was wondering how the .22 ammo sitation is in your neck of the woods?

A friend called the other day and told me that the local Academy story had .22 ammo ... but you had to ask for it. The wife and I stopped by the next day to find that they had many different brands and in different sizes. Ended up buying two (2) 325 boxes of Federal for about $38 OTD ($0.06 per round).

Still fairly awful around here.

Edit: Didn't even see the price you listed. That's a great price around here. I saw a limited quantity at a store recently at roughly 10c/round and I thought that was pretty great at the time.
