The double-stack mag is for a different gun. First half is JHP, rest of mag is loaded with FMJ. I figure if I end up needing a second gun, maybe they're wearing body armor or something.
FMJ's aren't going to do a thing for body armor. Pistol rounds don't have the velocity to pierce it. Stick with hollow points and if your hit center mass and they aren't stopping aim for the CNS.
Shit, it would likely be easier to get proper armor piercing rounds for a rifle like 5.56 or 7.63.
Anyone else think its funny that Alky keeps posting even though he doesn't own guns?
I just can't believe that he's in a gun thread, talking about pistols, with CLIPS of ammo.....and that Bartman repeated it! 🙄
I'll give Bartman the reasonable doubt, though, as I'm sure he was using it more sarcastically, than incorrectly. 😉
Yes he's talking about the recoil spring. MidwayUSA or TopGunSupply.

G/f and I went to the range today for a couple of hours and threw 200rds of .45ACP downrange through my 1911 and had a great time... But I also brought my new S&W 500 Magnum and fired it for the first time.
Holy shitballs that thing's insane. I was nowhere near accurate with it, but damn did it ever make a loud bang. 🙂
Haha nice. I have held one of those at Cabelas. It looks like a cartoon gun lol
I went to a gun show this weekend, $7 to get in.
Very much everything were about the same or more expensive than the big box places such as WalMart/Academy.
9 mm brass were over $.3 per round, .223/5.56 were about $.5 per round. Don't let me start with .22LR. A few no name stripped AR15 receivers for over $50. A dealer had so many ammo in boxes, I wonder how much he paid for gas/transportation because those suckers would be pretty heavy.
The only thing that I saw was a bit cheaper was handguns at a dealer. I saw that he had Glock 26 and 27 Gen4 for $520 plus sale tax. Beretta Nano was less than $400. Not bad at all. Oh, and I also saw that huge gun like you guys are talking about. I think it was a S&W revolver for over $1K. I did not buy anything.
I am curious, why would anyone want to buy things at the gun shows? Do you guys have better luck at your locations?
edit: I dunno if it would be consistent, but I'd think some JHP rounds would be very hard if not impossible to match to a barrel. At most, they could say how many grooves the barrel had, but I don't think they'd get the twist or anything that would really be a strong link to a certain gun. /speculation
I'd definitely advise not murdering anyone with something with polygonal rifling. That seems like it would make matching to a make/model much easier, given the limited pool of candidates.
Having sat through several murder trials as a juror, they match guns to the fired casings found at the scene. They don't match to the bullets. They're usually way too mangled from impacting with wood, metal, or concrete. And they don't look at all like the comparisons you see on CSI.
