nick -- what school do you run for? also, what is your best (5k) time? I wholeheartedly agree that cross country is a sport...and it's ironic that other sports get punished by running long (shorter) distances than we do.

I can understand not wanting to go back. However, this isn't some principles thing, where you think prom is a waste of time and money or immoral. This is just not wanting to go back to what you got to enjoy. Take the little shame if it's embarrassing to you.

If you've committed yourself to someone, then consideration is part of what you bring in. You should be considerate not to deprive her of what you got to enjoy and have no objection to as a matter of principle. Then again, if you're going to tell her implicitly that her interest matters not, maybe she'll go to the prom with someone who suits her and is considerate. :/

ohhh holy sh*t

You got to go to your prom but you'd like her to miss out on her's and you're in a huff because she's upset with that? Am I understanding you correctly?

Gotta hand it to Geekbabe... she really knows how to put things in right perspective :)

Not to debate the fact of cross country = a sport, but just because you can do it and he can't doesn't make it a sport. I could claim banging your head against the wall is a sport because you couldn't last for 2 minutes :p

oh hell too funny, nice shot

What school do you go to, but I failed in trying to remember any school famous for .... ha ha "cross country".

Yes yes, I can see it now, 10 years from now, when you have a job at some firm.

Some guy: So, what school did you go to?
You: blah blah, and you know, it's famous for cross country.
Some guy: oh really, that sounds amazing, you should be our team leader.
