YAGT: how long to call

to keep it simple: I went out on a first date tonight with the gril that lives above me. I think it went very well. How long until i call her again? I would like to see her before Thanksgiving becasue i have to go out of town. Do you think i can call her on Thrusday and see whats shes doing?
 

If you feel like calling, then call. Don't play that bullshit game. And dammit, if she lives above you, go visit her or talk to her when you see her in the hallway!

never, i hate talking to girls on the phone.

they always want to tell me what they did that day, and how their day went.

well, i tell you what, i don't give a crap how your day was, or that you had to wait 15 min longer to get your nails done.

For some serious advice, I usually tell the girl when I'm going to call her. It helps avoid the BS games.

I would have said, I'm going to be really busy tomorrow, but I will call you on Friday.

good point, but we never said anything like that. so maybe i will call her on thursday. at least then its one day

A good rule of thumb is to wait a day or two before calling. Anything less, and you'll scare the poor thing away. Anything more, and she'll forget what a great time you guy's had and wont be interested anymore.

Once the girl called me when she got home on the first date... but it's usually good to wait a day or so. Also, it's good to mix up the times you call her... at least for the first couple weeks you're seeing each other. If you call too often, i think the girl would think that you have no plans.

Do it in three days. By the second day she will a little worried that you haven't called, and it will make her think you are not interested. But, when you call her on the third day, she will be uber happy that you called her -that is if she is really interested in you. She will also see you as bit of a challenge because you didn't seem super urgent to talk to her...hope this helps.

Edit: Didn't see the OP was posted a couple of days ago. Anyways, this rule is universal...

That 3 day rule is stupid. Just call when you want to call. If she freaks and plays mind games because she feels you called too early, then there are other fish in the sea.

Heh, I knew I had a winner with my wife when we always made plans for another date while we were on one...

I never used to call, figured if they cared, they'd call me, worked pretty good:D
