As some people have said, be nonchalant about it. Just ask her to go to lunch with you in a "Gosh..we haven't hung out in forever, let me treat you to lunch" or something of the sort. That way, you can explain your side to her and you won't rat out the best friend.

However, I should also say that she's acting very catty. Think long and hard if you want a relationship with her. You guys aren't even technically 'going out' and she's already getting huffy puffy that you have a busy lifestyle. Just my 2 cents.

So I tried to fix things with her the past several of days but I've had it because the more I try the worse bitchy and psyschotic she becomes. Being around people like this just pisses me off so I wanted to end it.

Today I saw her and her friends. Since her friends were around, I thought it was the right time to end it because I wanted to let her friends know what a psycho she is. So I told her in front of her friends I no longer wanted to be associated with an attention whore like her who likes to play silly pubescent middle school kid games. Then I smiled and damn was she red. I feel so much better now.
