I see so you use guns for buttering biscuits? Also wtf who puts butter on biscuits!?

Aside from that, people buy guns as weapons, they don't buy butter knives as weapons, there is no other use for guns except to kill things. Shooting cans is not a use.

People Hunt with guns for recreation and for food. People Target shoot with guns, both recreationally and competitively. And people do use guns for self defense.

Shooting sports: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_sports

Just because you personally do not acknowledge a legitimate use does not make it true.

I don't acknowledge hunting because I believe it is immoral.
Using guns as toys is a bad idea.

You could use an AK47 as a shovel, but that doesn't mean it was meant for it.

Oops, forgot your english...I butter biscuits but not cookies...wtf do you call biscuits?

And I was referring to your samauri swords, not butter knives?

And I haven't shot any cans, however I do hone my skills with paper targets on a regular basis, similar to the way bows were used in England long ago, only my arrows move much faster...the skill and pride in accomplishment are the same however, as is the friendly rivalry with my friends over who can keep their shots the closest. In any case you are still the only one who believes guns can only be used for killing, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary...which you summarily dismiss because of your personal belief that guns are only for killing.

Then you may certainly feel free to not hunt.

The Olympics also view shooting as legitimate sport:

And you can repeat that you dont' see, or don't support usage. Again, that does not make you right.

Oh wow..... HAHA.

There's a thread out there explaining biscuits.

Also my samurai swords aren't really any good as weapons as they are 100% blunt, their basically just metal sticks.

It's not a belief. GUNS ARE WEAPONS.

Yeah I know I used to shoot professionally in a team! (22's but still fun)
But I didn't have a gun at home.

Please look back, I didn't start this, I just replied.

You took what could be a good thread about good firearms/calibers for women and completely derailed it.

So new topic - What's the best caliber to take a brit? 9mm, 45? 44 magnum was mentioned so that could add a nice variety to the twist? Or should we just go with the tried and true round bullet, non-rifled muzzle loader like last time?

I didn't start this. Read back, not I.

Also, any of them will do it, but you can't carry a gun over here so I wouldn't worry.

Acknowledged guns are weapons, in turn weapons are tools...in dispute was your BELIEF they are only used for killing.

OK fair enough. Could you just go back and quote to me where I said that guns were only used to kill.

I'm pretty sure I said they were invented to kill. Something that was invented to kill no individuals have a right to own <--- This is my point/ belief.

I appreciate that, but I would rather that my neighbours know nothing about guns than everything and If they have to know about them then I'd rather they know enough to own one but not build one.

Perhaps I did extend it a tad, but none-the-less, the idea that people around me know this much about guns would be terrifying.

Hypocrite. You can have knowledge about guns, but no one else around you can?

Reduces the number of guns on the streets. 🙄

Given the people are already law abiding, then I do not see the problem with allowing them their lawful usage. The only difference is you would impose your irrational fears on everyone else.

Then you should look into how many gun deaths there are in your country compared to mine.

You forget your posts quickly...see above...and you own samauri swords because they're dull? They still have a point and no other use except to kill...

A number which pales in comparison to automotive deaths, but we don't go around outlawing cars because you are scared to drive or because someone might hit you.

Ah so I do, yep I agree with myself the use of a gun is to kill, even though some people have forced them into doing things they weren't designed for.

Perhaps the bedrock of my point should be this:

Guns were designed to kill, built to kill and do kill on a daily basis, they have no right to be found in a kitchen next to the spoons.

A number which pales in comparison to automotive deaths, but we don't go around outlawing cars because you are scared to drive or because someone might hit you.

That's because cars weren't built to be weapons they serve another valuable purpose.
