sigh.. i don't ask for things to say, i ask mostly how to deal with my own insecurities. i've dated pretty steadily since I was 13 years old for christ's sake, but my long term relationship (nearly 7 years) during my formative years threw me off track - when you date someone that long you forget the rules and forget the game. it's true.. and you enter the world again confused and insecure. at least I did.

i have a low self esteem but am witty so first dates aren't a problem.. 3rd dates aren't a problem. now 5th or 6th.. that's when i run out of things to say and end up fvcking things up.

How do you run out of things to say? I don't know exactly how you define "witty", but hopefully by the 6th date you can find real topics of conversation and don't have to sit there trying to actively think of "witty" things to try and impress her.

it's actually not things to say, it's things not to say or do. Or my reaction to how things are going are often a bit over the top. Like the time I was seeing a girl for 2 months and wanted to date, demanded a commitment so she broke it off. Or the vegan girl who wanted me to stop smoking yet I refused to stop, or the .. yada yada yada.

I don't know if things are different where you are, but what I crave is a ltr and they seem to be hard to come by here in NYC. People date all the time but very few people I know are in long term relationships, I'm really not that abnormal here. Actually, most of my friends (even very attractive friends) are single. Remember that friend of mine who everyone here thinks is really hot? We just had a long conversation about how this guy she was seeing dumped her because she wanted a commitment from him, and she's one of the most attractive people i know. People fear commitment around here and, well, its hard to come by so I'm getting dumped over what I consider trivial things. maybe they're not all trivial, that's part of growing up - I need to figure out what I did wrong and try not to do it again, and thinking out loud on the forum helps me figure things out.

A card I was going to throw away but my roommate insisted that I keep. We dated 3 years at that point and dated almost 4 years after that as well. So, yeah. I'm sure I didn't have sex with her at all during those 7 years. I guess I'm a virgin.

you really are clueless. you think you're being dumped over trivial things? maybe they just don't want you. Most women want a guy who is confident and secure for ltr. You seem to lack both. Of course they'll go out with you a few times. But onces they get to know you, they find a reason to leave. At least you get to brag about sleeping with them. Personally, I still think you're gay, but hey, it's all good. maybe this one's the right one. She's not exactly a looker.
