Ice skating anywhere? indoors or outdoors would be fun. Are there any drop in salsa classes or tango classes in your area? Why not get something to eat and see where that goes?

Me and ice don't mix well together. Cute idea though. Drop is salsa classes sound interesting but, again, I want to look good tonight! Though, for some odd reason, your post reminded me that bowling is an option.. hmmm.. thanks for the suggestions :)

Bowling would be good too. I think that a first date is a good way to get to know someone... and when you are open (if you suck at ice skating) with that person, they will like you more because you are sharing with them something about you. Plus, competitive things like bowling or video games at an arcade is good too! What about pool or darts?

I'm all for being vulnerable and honest, I just have never skated in my life and the one time I attempted I sprained something. So it would be me sitting on the sidelines while someone else hits on her :)

Pool sounds good but billiards halls are surprisingly expensive in the city. Bars have tables but i don't think she can get into one. She's 22, looks 16, and has no id.

Fine! Though I'm less into her looks and more into the fact that she's a total geek.

Maybe MoMa, actually. OK, I'll start with the arcade (ESPN zone, I don't think they card so we may be able to get some drinks) and then move to a museum.

Update

Went very well, actually. We met at times square to play video games but she made a face at the suggestion - I took the hint and went to a dive that I thought would be pretty lax on IDing. Had a lot of drinks and ran into random friends, which made me look far cooler than I am. Got pretty tipsy and went out to dinner followed by a movie. Normally a bad idea but we were already 3 hours into a date and got a lot of the getting to know you conversation out of the way. Ended up makign out during "The Queen" (odd choice but it was the only movie that started at a decent time - was actually really good) and then she said "you know, I like you". She told me to give her a call after she gets back from her spring break trip and, welps, I shall.

Seriously, I could really use the money. If you'd like to come to nyc I'll introduce you to some of my exs. Yes, I'm that guy who's still good friends with most of the women he's slept with.

Not exactly what I'd consider great personally, but sounded like it went well.

I highly doubt that from all your clueless women posts. If you could really get pus, you wouldn't need to go on okcupid. Case rested.

I really doubt that you have ever been laid. There is no way that someone who has to ask for such lame advice as to what to say/do/talk about on a date could ever even muster the courage to talk to a girl without advice. I think you are full of crap and lack any social skills what so ever.

How do you run out of things to say? I don't know exactly how you define "witty", but hopefully by the 6th date you can find real topics of conversation and don't have to sit there trying to actively think of "witty" things to try and impress her.

I didn't say it went great, it took me a long time to make a move and she was tired by the end of the night when I still wanted to go drinking (she works a 9 to 5 and I don't have to be up until 11). BUT we had a long kiss goodnight and she asked me to call her again, so it went well enough. My hands also ventured where it shouldn't have and she didn't stop me, so I think there's an attraction there, I just didn't want to press for an invite to her place or vice versa. She's a good girl, she would have rejected me anyways.
