You dont have to go so far as asking her "out" (hey, you want to go to a movie and dinner this weekend?). Just approach her desk near quitting time, express job frustration, and say you cant wait to get outta there. Then say, "hey, why dont we go and ... " In my world that would be, "hey, why dont we go grab a drink for happy hour today." :D Works everytime.

she is 20, she can't drink... :(

thank you for the suggestion though

Hey Jude!
Take the risk of putting yourself out there & ASK HER OUT NOW!

How about to share dinner & movie?

Don't worry about her working at same place. Receptionists come & go almost like temps.

D O I T

Even if she says 'no' you'll feel better about yourself for having taken the initiative.

DO I T N O W.

i dont know...

also... i found out she lives like 5 mins from my place. that is also disturbing, so maybe it really wasn't going all that out of her way to drop off my ring...

gah... too much thinking.
You're right, you are thinking too much!!! I don't care if she lived across the hall from you,
she didn't have to do what she did. Just do it!!! You know you want to, and she could be the best thing to ever happen to you.

I agree. She could easily have waited until the next work day to drop off your ring...

oh and btw... when I met my WIFE, I was 23 and she was 17... sure I checked the legal ramifications to make sure everything is ok first, but... :D everything worked out amazing in the end.

so she's definitely in your range.

Eh, only if company policy forbids it. I dated a coworker...it didn't work out, but no one got in trouble. It helped that we were both peons with no authority over anyone.

If you gotta ask us for permission/support/advice/etc, you don't have enough balls to do whatever it is you want to do.

Good move. If you're at the mall, stop for coffee or ice cream.

even better... there are tons of restuarants near by. either we eat before mall or after doesn't really matter.

My suggestion is to back off. Make her come to you next. She's canceled on you twice. If she's really interested she will come to you.

this is the kicker... i never mentioned tonight again to her. she brought it up this morning when i came in. she then proceeds to say how me being here saved her from the shipping guy who is trying to mac her. then she rants about her brakes and asks for my opinion and asks if i would ocme out and listen to them. LOL.

I just don't care anymore. She will have to make the next move.

Exactly. Though I highly suggest you not be hostile to her, not even passive aggressive. It's not worth it in the workplace. Just play it cool and let her make the next move. You've already made your displeasure clear when you bolted on her in the parking lot, so there's no need for you to do anything else but keep cool. Seriously.

She sounds annoying, but......don't make anymore moves until she unzips your pants. I agree with the others, let her make the decision.
