Went into Costco yesterday and saw it was $4.53 for regular when I entered the store. When I was done shopping the price jumped to $4.55... :(

meh, nothing we can do, individually at least.

Put pressure on your Moderators to ban Queasy not only in ATOT, but along the East Coast, West Coast, Florida Coast, ANWR, and oil shale fields in Colorado, Utah, and Idaho. See sig.

$4.96 a gallon for regular, here in Hyderabad, India. I get 120MPG on my PoS motorcycle so it doesn't bother me much. Except when it's 110 freaking degrees outside. :|

Put pressure on your Senators and Congressman to lift the ban on the exploration and drilling along the East Coast, West Coast, Florida Coast, ANWR, and oil shale fields in Colorado, Utah, and Idaho. See sig.

Since them drilling there will open the floodgates and drop prices by then end of what 2010 if we're lucky? There is nothing that can be done about gas increasing anytime in the near term. Don't expect any ease in the rising price before at the EARLIEST the end of summer, and that's assuming that this really is an "oil bubble" that will collapse. I'm not counting on it though.

Yes it would be nice to drill in ANWR, and other places. Realistically though we needed to start that process in 2003 for it to actually help us now. It takes time to get that infrastructure in place for drilling, then for transportation, then for refineries to be able to increase production (which IIRC they are at or near capacity as is), before finally making it into the market.

Here's a free lesson on getting prices down. As long as demand remains for product at a particular price, why would a company lower it? So, as soon as we all decide to stop paying for it, companies then bring down prices because if they don't they go broke.

Water-fuel car unveiled in Japan

Japanese company Genepax presents its eco-friendly car that runs on nothing but water.

The car has an energy generator that extracts hydrogen from water that is poured into the car's tank.

The generator then releases electrons that produce electric power to run the car.

Genepax, the company that invented the technology, aims to collaborate with Japanese manufacturers to mass produce it.

Getting pretty close to $5 here in Alaska. I think we're up to $4.86.

what was it a year ago? has it been going up a few cents every other day or day there too for quite sometime?

It was about $4.50USD/gal a year ago, and a year before that the same. Back in November of 2005 (earliest I could find info for) it was $3.66USD/gal in Victoria. Never really been that cheap the last few years. But lately it's been going up fast, I'm talking $4.45USD/gal on 3/14 to $5.55USD/ga on 6/14. That's about a penny a day or so, it tends to go up on Mondays and Wednesdays then sit for the rest of the week. Last jump was $.07/litre, which is almost $.28/gal, that was a one day jump.

hummm I will be in Chula Vista next weekend which is about 11 miles from the border, anyone want to comment on how gas in Mexico is? I'm not expecting US quality but the cars down there run on it, just wondering it my Car will react to it like I do to the water in TJ :)

for almost 1/2 the price of gas in CV I'm tempted to head across the border and fill er up.

I think he posted a sarcastic comment or joke, it was taken literally by someone whose sarcasm meter was broken (or since Dave sometimes makes some pretty outlandish claims, it simply didn't register.) And, that someone complained and a mod cleaned up the thread.

Anyways, "MIdwest floods may increase gas prices by 15%"
All due to corn going up in price. That's funny - last time there was flooding, there wasn't a 70 cent per gallon jump in price, or anything even close to that.

There was no sarcasm present in his post. That's just an excuse for not tossing him the banstick imo :) Not saying you have to make excuses or anything, just my point of view!

The dollar is falling and gas prices are catching up on 25 years of almost fixed pricing (1980-2005 average cost of gas only went up $.20).

It's 4.13 here. Hasn't gone up in about a week... pretty surprising.

As for that water-powered car, I saw a thing a couple weeks ago on a guy that did that too. I forget the link and some of the details, but he built it in some 80's car and seemed to work kinda well.
