Don't derail this thread with your horseshit. So no, we don't want that discussion in this thread.
This thread is for posting instances of "existing while black".

You want to discuss poverty and genetics of the situation? Do it in the thread you said you made.

What "horseshit?" Discussing why officers display bias towards people of color is absolutely germane to the "existing while black" narrative.

Incorruptible is that you?

Nah, he'd have tried to blame everything on Muslims, claimed he wasn't islamophobic, and accused you of pedophilia when you provided evidence that he was islamophobic. Not that this would've precluded other forms of racism on his part...

As the OP, the purpose of this thread was to highlight black people being harassed just for existing or exercising their rights. There are a few incidents when the police showed up they realized call was bogus and reacted as such. It's not about police harassment per se but includes it. It also is meant to include people of color because more often then others we are the victims.

That's what the police are for, they are colored after all gotta stop that shit early or they might think you can have anything you want. Now you just ignore little Bobby over there walking out of the store with $10 worth of stuff in his pockets, he's just a poor little white boy trying to provide for his poor family.
Sure that's what police are for. Violently arrest a family because a 4 year old took a .99 cent doll. Meanwhile white guys on wall street stole trillions. Did we see any arrests like this or at all??

Of course. No one argues that. I'm just amazed someone would want to shut down the discussion of why this happens. This is a discussion board, isn't it? So long as it's polite, reasoned discourse I don't see a problem with it.

Anyway, I've said my two cents.

I'm on your side my brother I hate seeing the shit that is happening to my black and brown brothers and sisters while the rich get away with all the white-collar crime they can pull off. I'd love to see a cop throw some banker into a choke hold all while screaming at him to stop resisting arrest while his buddy cops are stomping a mud-hole in him.

black person had the nerve to criticize police tactics and gets this

Police: Footage shows wrongful arrest of Baltimore passerby

https://www.foxnews.com/us/police-footage-shows-wrongful-arrest-of-baltimore-passerby

Gotta love these Union reps comparing the actions of this cop to how some teenagers were reacting at another situation. I guess he doesn't think that police should be held to a higher standard than some stupid teenagers doing stupid things that teenagers do.

It's hard sometimes to detect sarcasm/satire over the internet, but I can assure you DK was just making an over the top comment to display the absurdity of the converse. It's well inline with his posting patterns.

On "white collar" crime. It's just absurd; it shouldn't make a damn bit of sense what they get away with. However, they've had the government in their pocket for quite some time. Paul Manafort's punishment, for example, aside from the forfeitures of his ill-gotten gains are like getting caught with a bit of weed and having the book thrown at you. The forfeitures of his assets shouldn't factor into the sentencing in my opinion, the seized assets were the fruits of his tax evasion. Just losing the assets should not constitute punishment for that crime and should stack on his other crimes. The factors that determine whether the book gets thrown at you are out of whack in this country - justice isn't blind. Green is the color that matters most of all. I feel like things are starting to change, but it unfortunately takes generations. I remember feeling ashamed of the way my grandpas talked about and treated persons of color. It took centuries to get to where this country was, and it is unsatisfyingly slow in progress to reverse it. It is well apparent that not everyone felt the same sort of disgust with the conditions they saw growing up. However, I think and hope things will continue to pick up momentum.

Edit: You know what, story time. I've posted earlier that I was a Navy brat until my dad got into a bad car accident and was medically discharged. One of the great things about our military is that you are put on equal footing on any type of differences of race, creed, or whatever the fuck else doesn't really matter. The same happens for the families attached to the service-people. I was 4 years old when this happened, a boy a bit older than me but probably within the single digits of age, was swinging an about 10 foot metal fence post at a slide. I have 2 redeemable qualities as a person; I am reasonably intelligent and stubborn as a mule. Stubborn as a mule won out in this instance, I picked up a like 3-4 gallon container for bubbles and the wand. It was a sword and shield, there was two girls on top of the slide screaming and crying as Kevin banged the pole against the side of the slide. I went in with my "sword and shield" and took a slow lumbering swing to the head. I went down and smashed my head on the pavement. An African American teenage girl came running, scooped me up, and took me home. She turned into an NFL running back to get me home and safe. I guess I probably would have been fine otherwise, but when I heard my grandpas say stuff like lazy N words ... just no.

Fun side fact: that family's yard is where I found out I was allergic to bee stings, because I stomped one in their lawn and ended up in the ER. I guess my best quality is being stubborn.

Total bullshit how these officers behaved. Total street thugs who hide behind a badge. I hope both are fired and never work in law enforcement again.

Not just that, the sheer shittery of our government system should have the oversight to not allow this type of shit:

Newberg, 49, is among the highest-paid city employees in Baltimore. The Baltimore Sun has reported that the sworn sergeant was paid $243,000 last fiscal year, much of it thanks to numerous overtime shifts. He's been charged with assault, false imprisonment and misconduct. He was arrested last week and is suspended without pay.

They intentionally recruit not the brightest people for police officers. Like how they tried to use the "a few bad apples" saying when this type of stuff started, seemingly unaware that they're admitting those bad apples are ruining the whole bunch of them.

Sounds like some Karen thought it was appropriate to send armed government officers after a four year old with a 99 cent doll.

As an update, the police apparently were called for some other reason and then when they showed up the store told them someone just stole a doll and pointed the people out as they got into a vehicle. Police say they chased after it (on foot) but the vehicle wouldn't stop, so they called for backup while they got in their vehicle to pursue. The vehicle stopped and let out a passenger (that had arrest warrants out for her, they apprehended her), and then continued on to the apartment complex and then we have the video from there. That's the police's story, which they were caught with differing story of what happened compared to the part we saw on video (and witness accounts), so...

Even assuming its true, and the family intentionally stole the doll and fled, still does not justify the police behavior.

The Phoenix police chief and mayor have both apologized for it. I think they said all the officers were put on desk duty while its being investigated.

Equal footing is the antithesis of affirmative action. Standards are standards and if the racial mix isn’t “optimal” that’s the way it goes, there’s no black female “diversity hires” for the Rangers because you’re stupid or can’t do a pull-up.

And military service is a counter-point of equality of opportunity. Outside fringe cases of kids from rich/famous families that get the kid gloves treatment. However, in civilian life, equality of opportunity varies wildly. I don't have the answers, but if we can at least recognize issues such as residential ethnic segregation, brought upon us by racist tactics of the past such as redlining, we might make some progress. Whatever happened to the concept of the American melting pot? We need to fight for each other.

I liked this guy's response to the PD's clearing themselves of that case, it's a good listen if you have 10 minutes (Law Enforcement trainer)

Flying while black.

https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/bla...t-to-her-spirit-airline-flight-212058334.html

Woman gives some bullshit excuse saying she thought the seat would be open, thus that's why she refused the African American woman
the seat that was next to her. But, the reality was she had no problem letting a while college student sit next to her.

1562024903258.png

"According to Tiarra’s account, she was forced to ask other passengers to switch seats with her instead. The woman allegedly later claimed she took issue with Tiarra sitting next to her because “she thought the seat was going to be empty.” However, she points out that the woman “allowed the young white college student to sit next to her with no issue.” "
