If you watch the video and imagine both parties are stick figure drawings with no way to identify a race, ethnicity, style of dress, etc. it should be pretty evident that the person who lives in the condo has every right not to allow someone to tailgate/piggyback into the controlled access building. The person trying to enter without getting buzzed or let in by a resident as their guest is completely in the wrong here. Skin color is irrelevant.
How would a person of color feel if a white person tried to let themselves in to their controlled access condo and threatened to send a social media lynch mob against them in retaliation for not letting them piggyback?
Let's start treating everyone as equals, all equally beholden to the same rules, all equally responsible for our own actions, all capable of making right and wrong decisions, all capable of redemption and worthy of respect.
I can't help but see everyone screaming at the top of their lungs that, effectively, rules should not apply to people of color because of the color of their skin, actually deep down inside see people of color as children, incapable of agency or making good choices, and in need of brave, strong white people to stand up, defend, and excuse their actions.
And T-minus 10 minutes until my view that all people are equal is decried as racist.....
