YAET: Seller stated that a $5 would be added...

I bid on the auction knowing/noticing that he has said this and I plan to tell him that I will not pay the fee.

Obviously both paypal and ebay have polcies against this.

What should I do if he puts up a fight?

The auction said he is going to send me an email, so I'm waiting for him to add that into the final price before I say anything.

Do you like getting bad feedback? There are tons of policies that are broken with every auction. I personally wouldn't take on a policy like that.

You don't agree to the terms of the auction, you don't bid on it. Is that complicated?

I would fvcking pissed at you if I were that seller. At least he's not just tagging it onto shipping and not telling you. Seriously, I've had people try to jerk me around on shipping charges, wanting local pick up. You TALK about these things before you bid, not after you win.

What you're doing is the way to have an angry person show to your house once you give them your shipping address. Or just ruin something at your house when you're not around. Or send you dog crap in a box.

Quit being a d!ck.

Why did you even bid? Are you a sucker for hassle? Even if you win, you just added another smidgen of stress to your life.

But what the seller is doing is a clear violation of paypal and ebay policy.

Oh, and are you one of the guys who does not allow local pick up, but instead charges exorbant amounts for shipping?

You are a dick.

Yes, if this fee is plainly stated in the auction, why did you bid on it?

Then you REPORT HIM. You don't win the auction then try to BLACKMAIL HIM into doing things your way.

No, I was charging LESS than actual shipping on the auction. The guy ended up not paying me for all my item, and not paying shipping. I just generally got screwed on the deal.

Don't bid if you don't agree with the terms of the auction. It's that simple.

He doesn't have the right to be pissed. He shouldn't be passing fees for listing HIS fvcking auction and getting HIS fvcking payment on to the buyer.

I'm sure you love it how utilities companies and cell phone companies just hand newly required taxes off as a new charge to customers too, huh?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, if this fee is plainly stated in the auction, why did you bid on it?

Because even if it is clearly stated, it doesn't make it acceptable.

How come he didn't pay you for all of the item?

Exactly. If some auction says flat-out "PS: I fully intend to take your money and never send your item becuase I am a scammer."

Would you bid on it?
No - you would report it, not bid on it.

so retract your bid or take your negative like a man

or better yet. Smash your computer with the biggest hammer you can find, then turn it on your own genitalia so you dont reproduce.

Then REPORT him. Stop trying to BLACKMAIL people. What you're doing is far worse and less honest than what he's doing. If you really thought what he was doing was wrong, you would report him, not try to get the item, but pay less for it. So don't hide behind some sense of do gooding. You're trying to save some money and screw some guy in the process.

So it's stated clearly and you're gonna argue with the seller that you will not pay the $5 extra? Yeah that will work out great....

Businesses pass on every expense they have to their customers in one way or another. Don't waste peoples time if you aren't willing to comply with the terms of an auction just because you think you can bully your way out of fees.

Neither is bidding when you don't agree to the clearly stated terms acceptable. 2 wrongs still don't make a right these days.

Because he had basically said, "I'm not going to pay for shipping, so you can ship it to me if you want, or you can go through the trouble of doing a non-paying bidder and relisting." I asked him for his shipping address, he realized he had me by the balls, so he took it a step further.

This isn't chinatown... you don't just bargain for what you want and expect to get it on your terms.

Just report him and move on. You're just asking for it...

He'll just call it a processing feee for eletronic transferes and you'll have to pay it.... thats what i do. I've had a guy be a d!ck about my 3% "processing fee". He won the auction and threatened to email ebay. So i told him to go ahead ebay just told him that my practice is legit....

Well, let me do a 180 here. I thought he had already won the auction. I see now that he has bid on the auction KNOWING that the seller charges for paypal. Next time, don't bid on it.
