Budget is about 15K max if I am goin to purchase this soley for myself (my parents would help me with downpayment/initial stuff while i pay them back), otherwise, I am trying to convince my 'rents into getting a fullsize truck, which i'd be partly paying for. A truck would be more pratical in replacing the family minivan from '91, a toyota previa. My zip code is 95336 if you have anyother suggestions/local/new car incentives/deals.
1998 Civic EX coupe, 5spd manual, 64k miles, ~$7500 (i persnally know the owner, i'm good with hondas as far as maintenence and repair)
2000 BMW 323i, 5spd manual, 94k miles, ~$14,995 (a lot of miles i know, but i'd be doing the maintenence/repair)
New 2005 Kia Spectra5, 5spd man, with abs/sunroof, ~ $14,500
New 2005 Subaru Imprezza 2.5RS, 5spd manual, ~$18,300
New Mazda3, 5spd man, hatch or sedan, ~$19,500
New Ford Focus hatch, 5spd man, ~$15,800
2005 Ford Mustang convertible, V6, ~$ 26,500 (about a $1500 markup right now)
Now, for trucks:
'05 Ford F-250 CrewCab, 4x4 Lariat diesel ~$39k
'05 F-150 CrewCab, 4x4 Lariat, ~$32,200
'05 Dodge 3500 Diesel CrewCab ~$38,300
'05 Dodge 1500 HEMI, 4x4 CrewCab, ~$30,100
'05 Toyota Tundra, 4x4 CrewCab ~$32k
'05 Tacoma 4x4 CrewCab longbed, ~$30k (can almost get a tundra for this much)
'05 Nissan Titan, 4x4 CrewCab, ~$35,300
'05 Nissan Frontier, 4x4 nismo CrewCab, ~$27,700
'05 Honda Ridgeline, ~$35k (!!! wow, might as well get a full size diesel, heheh)
'05 Jeep Unlimited, ~$26,200
comments/suggestions welcome. I am kind of leaning towards my friends' civic, b/c i know that i could pay that off rather quickly.
Edit: added poll. A little clarification: if I were to get a car, the car would be primarily for me, i'd be making full payments on it, with just the help of my parents in putting down the initial amount so i could pay them back. If i were to get a truck, it'd be repalcing the minivan, so my parents would be paying for some of it as it wouldn't soley be for me.
