When driving around normally, usually 3-4k into 2nd 3rd and 4th. No more than 3k into 5th and 6th. Downshift if I drop below 1750rpm or so, unless I'm in 2nd. I don't downshift into 1st unless I'm crawling along at a few mph.

If I need to get up to speed fast, a short merge onto the freeway, or anything of that nature - whatever the situation dictates.

Well the best cruising speed for everybody would be their peak torque, doesn't matter how low it is because your not goanna get good mileage unless your maximizing your torque output.

Seriously? Driving at peak torque and pressing the accelerator down less is better while cruising than driving low rpms and pressing more accelerator?

Normally about 2400RPM for shift and 2100RPM for cruise. I'll go to 3000-3500RPM to max out the boost when I feel like it and she's all warmed up.
