when they first came out, honda had a lot of trouble selling them
the next model they put about 5000 dollars worth of upgrades into it, but raised the price 20 grand and honda could not make enough of them
sad sad

it gets 16/24 mph, and doesnt burn its headers every 10k miles, and doesnt require an engine service every 3 months like a ferrari?

if you can afford a ferrari or lambo, would you really worry about gas and/or repairs? hell, you might even have your own mechanic ;)

supposedly they are greatest handling car in the world.

now, the bs aside, if you can't drive a MR, then it handles like crap.

Personally, I love how it looks and handles and is designed, not to mention it's a daily driveable exotic in my books. Like any other accord/civic it'll be just fine even after reaching 150k miles.

And yes, I have driven one :)

Either that or go drive it yourself ;) :D

Ever turned down a car because you were afraid to drive it? I have, right after the NSX the salesman offered to take out the Viper and I was really not prepared to drive such a beast and had to turn it down :(

although i have to say, both the NSX and the Viper is similar in that they were both revolutionary back in the days... nobody can make a car under $100k that can beat ferrari's (NSX) and nobody can make a modern sports car (or dare making one) that would put out so much power... (viper)

well now the NSX is dead and the viper is being out-powered by the corvette and the like... but they're still awesome cars.

Why exactly do salesmen let you drive cars you clearly cannot afford?

I almost bought one instead of the M3.....ALMOST. They are decent cars though, a bit overpriced for what you get, and they are still a honda...but the only honda I would spend money on.

It was a great car in its time and even today, still is. I'm pretty sure if someone took an earler model to an autocross, it would still perform competitively with "new" cars despite being 10+ years old.

Theres a little something called "handling" which this car does very well. Most americans don't appreciate this atribute and I can understand why. Handling is something very subtile and precise, americans like big and in your face.

Sure it doesn't have much power if you compare to cars nowadays, but when it was first introduced, it ran circles around pretty much everything...yes including those cars coming from Germany and Italy while at the same time, cost less, drive better in the "real" world and offer fantastic realibilty.

It costs 51k for a 190hp Exige here in the states. Light cars with great handling aren't cheap, no matter the horsepower.

But the NSX was too overpriced at 80k.

It doesn't have a lot of HP because it doesn't need it, its a light weight car and the power to weight ratio is very good. Another good thing about low weight is obviously the agility of the car, why the NSX was owning the turns in that video. It showed the Lambo Murcielago as the relative boat it was - bad at turns, but a beast on the straights. The Gallardo came in 2nd probably because it was better on the turns than its bigger brother, and its extra power helped it against the NSX to take that 2nd place spot right at the end.

However Those lambos were probably twice the price of that NSX...clearly it would be a sweet car to have and drive, even at legal speeds (or slightly above legal speeds ;)). Besides, The Wolf from Pulp Fiction drives an NSX, clearly they are sweet cars.

My daily attire is a bit different than most people and then it's the confidence level your portray that makes a difference, keep in mind that I'm in Indiana and so it's not going to be as hard as some place on the east/west coast to get a test drive.

I went to a Ducati/Agusta dealer with my friend a while ago and the only person that noticed we were alive was the guy selling model kits and apparel. lol.

When it first came out it was a top notch car.
Even now with all these super high power cars the NSX can keep up on a track.
