How to unlock a 2000 monte carlo
1- get the heaviest coat hanger you can find, if you can get some sort of metal rod about as thick ad your car antenna it would work best. (note: do not use your car antenna)
2- bend it 90 degrees about 3-3.5 inches from the end of the rod
3- go to the passenger side door and use something to wedge the door skin away from the window glass.
a flathead screwdriver or a pencil or pen can usually do this without difficulty. You will need to be able to insert the tool you just made into the door and be able to move it around inside the door.
4- insert the tool with the L part down into the door about 3 inches in front of the outside door handle with the L bend you made pointing toward the rear of the car
5- lower the tool 10-12 inches into the door, rotate the tool you made 90 degrees so that it is pointing at the drivers side of the car.
6- the lock linkage for your car has a bend in it at that spot, and you will be able to push against it and slide you locks to the open position. Have a friend watch the inside lock button and he will see it move when you have found the correct spot. Once you see the inside lock button move just work at pushing the linkage toward the front of the car and you will get it open.
7- have a
Disclaimer- I am not liable for any damage to your car or ego from trying this - I could open your car using this method in less then 10 seconds, you should be able to do it as well.
