Do I need to take a picture of our F-Body that is coming out of the body shop in a week or two to prove my love of F-Bodies?
No you don't drive it.
That is my whole point in the thread. SO MANY light a torch. If you did and love them, then why didn't you pick one up. Personally I'd love a old school 60's 'CAMERO' or firebird or a 69 429 Mustang Fastback in my garage.
You have a great car. A plug and play $30k. I am not dissing that aspect.
However; I do find it funny to buy a manual trans car new and not know how to driving one after being a car advocate.
I am willing to bail out of this thread if you really want to stop attacking me.
You do have a nice car although today's muscle cars are a bit different than those that beat 60's times. Many think they are muscle cars though.
No I don't drive what? My gf's 92 Camaro RS B4C? I do drive it. I'm the only one who has driven it. I've put in a lot of wrench time on it (With Marlin's help, thanks Marlin!

) and it is my body guy who is spending almost two months of his time changing it to jet black with a fiberglass ram air hood and lots of body damage repair. I do drive it and like it for what it is, but it certainly is not what I would want in a daily driver. Even the 4th gens, while much nicer, are not as "luxury" as the GTO.
I'd love a 67-69 GTO as well; I love the lines of the car and the pure power to it. But I wouldn't want one as a daily driver.
Why is it funny that I bought a 6-speed car new and didn't know how to drive stick despite being a car lover? Is it funny that all of my cars and my family's cars were purchased based on economy, not all-out preference? Is it funny that after driving decade+ old cars since I was 16, I worked my ass off in college and got a very good job that is allowing me to pay for a new car, all my living costs, well up on student loans, and still saving? Is all that funny? See, because I see it as the result of lots of hard work.
Maybe you mean it takes balls to drive a 400HP 6-speed $30K car off the lot with having very little practice driving a stick? Even my gf thinks that.
And to clarify, I did know
how to drive a stick before I ever got into the seat of a GTO. I just wasn't very good at it, but like most things car-related I'd read a hell of a lot about it way before getting involved in it and had practiced stick once a while back. Again, I'm sorry my Daddy didn't buy me a $40K muscle car when I was 17.
At least this wasn't me
Oh, and "willing to bail out" are you? You mean you're willing to stop attacking me for something I didn't do to you? I'm sorry you started it and now you've just been blatantly shut down, but the only bailing out that will happen is if you STFU.
And at no point did I compare this car to the GTO muscle car of the 60's, or any muscle car of that fine era. They are very different cars, but the GTO/Camaro Z28/Firebird TA/Mustang GT are the muscle cars of today, for better or worse.
