YACT: My dream of owning an EVO RS is dead...

GasX

Lifer
They only come in white and red... 🙁

I could always get an EVO VIII and rip off the spoiler...

What color do you want?

When I went to the Build & Price menu on the Mitsu USA web page, it seemed to show the spoiler as an option on the Evo VIII, but I too had understood it to be mandatory. Other things being equal I have a strong aversion to giant spoilers myself.

The spoiler option is for a BIGGER carbon fiber spoiler... :disgust:

Not much of a dream is it.
Cheaper to get an VIII and lose the spoiler...

I'd want black or silver, btw...

MSRP for the RS is around $26K but you don't have much of a street car without the urban jungle option (A/C, etc...)

To me the RS is just too decontented if you intend to drive the car with any kind of regularity. If it is strictly for track use, the RS sounds awesome, but the weight savings is not enough to make me tolerate the lack of A/C, stereo, keyless entry, sound deadening, etc, if I were driving the car on the road (particularly since I am a long way from having an extra $27K to throw into a track toy). The Urban Jungle package would help, but at that point the weight savings must be minimal.

The New 2005 Mustang GT starts at 25K reasonably loaded with a 300hp V8 and a solid axle rear end. 😀 😀 😀

Yeah, for me the Urban Jungle package would fit me just perfect.... in fact I'd love an RS with one 🙂

What's the diff b/t the RS and the VIII?
They ripped out 150LBs or stuff to make it lighter..

sound deadening
A/C
radio
power locks
spoiler
etc...

If you add the "urban jungle" option package you get the A/C and power stuff back in and it is still cheaper than the VIII
