I think the Max is a bit quicker but the torque steer is horrible in the Maxima. The IS is RWD so no torque steer.

The Maxima would be no match for an IS350 though. The IS350 would spank a Maxima easily.

I would agree. Since we only have one 4 year old child it's not a problem for us. I suppose if she absolutely had to drive 4 adults (plus herself) around she could take the Maxima and I could drive the IS that day. ;)

I had plenty of headroom in the backseat but I didn't sit in the center spot.

When we test drove the car we had my wife, myself, our son in a child seat and the salesman in the car. Acceleration was impressive and none of us was cramped in the car at all. Like I said, my wife is 5'4" so an average person sitting behind her would have ample legroom.

so how is the nanny-controlled aspect of the driving experience. edmund says there are stability controls and the likes that can't be turned off by the driver.
