Fvck, you're the biggest LGT whore I've ever run across online or otherwise!

Is that a bad thing? :p

Congrats! :)

Nope, this one doesn't have NAV. It does have the premium package and we did get the 18" chrome wheels at no additional charge.

Carlsbad eh? I'll be right down to pick up my new IS.... thanks!

Yes, excellent dealership. I highly recommend them.

Edit-I've heard good things about El Monte Lexus as well. Our neighbor who owns nothing but Lexus raves about them. I'll have to check them out next time.
Or is that Longo Toyota/Lexus happens to be located in the heart of the Asian enclave in SoCal?

It said El Monte on the plate frame...I'll have to check with her next time. She's purchased 3 Lexus cars from them.
Well, Longo is in El Monte...to my knowledge that's only dealer in that city.

Just a comment on the transmission - the automatic trannies in the IS250's and IS350's really surprised me. Before driving those two cars I really *hated* automatic transmissions but this one changed my mind, it loved to wind the engine up a little and not just stay under 3k rpm and shifted very well. I was dissapointed at first from reading around that the IS350 wouldn't be offered with a manual transmission but after driving it I don't think I'd have even the slightest of an issue getting it with an automatic if I were to ever buy one.

So what do you think between it and your WRX?

This car is so much more refined. I really like the chassis on the Lexus, it handles like 9/10ths of a sports car but isn't nearly as harsh. Interior noise is non-existant in the Lexus. They are two completely different cars though and I don't see many people cross shopping this car and an STI.

The Lexus has prestige, performance and class. I think it is definitely one of the best cars in its class. Lexus was extremely easy to deal with too. No pressure at all at the dealer. Man, every car buying experience should be like this. We basically paid msrp but he threw in a $1900 wheel option at no extra charge. We get free loaner cars for life and free roadside assistance.

I think this car > the 3 series BMW by a long shot.

I thought that too, then I noticed the cheap fake wood interior that there is no option to get rid of.........too bad they didn't offer that fake wood in carbon fiber or something....can't stand faux wood and it seems like every Toyota has it......

There is no faux wood in this car.

well the wood was in the 350........if there's no faux wood in your car that makes it a horse of a different color- nice ride although you should have got silver :)

Not wood, but I think the "aluminum trim" is painted plastic, iirc.

I love almost everything about the IS250. Except that there's just something not right about the way it looks from behind.

Gorgeous cars :p

Actually it's an IS250. We decided to go with better gas mileage and the lower price.

This car is freaking awesome though.

Beautiful car, congrats. Very surprised.

My gf has been kinda looking at the G35 and IS.

You guys still have the STi?

Nope. Just the IS and the Maxima now. We really needed to keep the Maxima as having two smallish cars just wouldn't cut it for us.

My wife is a realtor so she wanted something with a little more prestige.

I've driven the G35 coupe and I personally like the IS better. The IS350 would have been really nice but it was a little out of our price range quite honestly.

Don't real estate agents drive clients around in their car?
If she has a couple or family going to check out a house, wouldn't the lack of space in the backseat be an issue?

I've sat in the back of an IS before. It has about as much room as a coupe, like the G35c.
I eliminated the car even without a test drive due to that fact.

I sat in the back of this car last night and had plenty of legroom. My wife is 5'4" and I'm 5'11" and had no trouble sitting behind her, my knees didn't hit the back of the seat. The car actually feels quite roomy to me. Not as roomy as the Maxima but definitely not as small as her old 3 series.

The new IS is definitely more roomy in the back seat than a G35 coupe.

Maybe you're thinking of the older IS300? I think that car is quite a bit smaller than the new one.

Besides, everytime she's taken clients to look at homes it has been a couple or they followed her or met her at a listing. She's had way more sales representing sellers than buyers anyway.

I had a positive experience at Longo Lexus too. Wasn't looking for a new car but was taking my in for a brake repair. Man I felt like a king there. Awesome service and I was even given a nice loaner car so I could get home that night and to work the next day. The guy called later that night and informed me of every step that they were doing to the car until it was finished.

I'm about 5'9" and when the driver seat is adjusted to my liking, I sat behind myself and my knees were touching the back of the driver seat, to the point where I had to angle them.

Not to mention the hump on the middle seat (head rubs against ceiling) as well as the protrusion for the driveshaft which basically renders the middle seat useless.
This is definitely a 4 passenger only car for extended trips.
