YACT: help changing tires

Fenixgoon

Lifer
ok, so im trying to put some 17's on my VW passat but for some reason, they wont sit flush. i have one of those plastic fake lugnut things to help get the wheel on, but i cant seem to get the wheels to sit on the car flush. any idea why? i've tried rotating the wheel once i get it on the plastic "lugnut" but that didn't really get me anywhere. i can't even get the original 15's back on now :|

pointers? suggestions?

please no flaming, i really need to get either the 1 15'' or all 17'' cause i gotta drive to school tmw

you suck ass.

sit on the ground, hold the tire up with your feet if it wont sit nice on the hub.

put in one bolt
put in the rest

You can't even get the original 15" back on? Have you tried jacking the car up some more? You have to raise the car higher to get the wheel back on than you do to take it off usually.

You may have to call road service in your driveway

roadservice = my brother.. jack failed when i raised it up too high.. veeeeeeerrrry bad 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 :|

as far as i can tell, no mechancical damage to engine or anything (isnt touching ground).. but part of the plastic siding is ripped up (can be reattached, but looks kinda funny)... god im fvcked

LOL, you dropped your car on the ground with no wheel? Way to go.

i only had 1 wheel off, else i'd be even more fscked

by the way it was a scissor jack.... a nice pneumatic one would have been better

Before you do any more work, you might want to pick u pa decent floor jack.

Scratch that...might be best to take it somewhere in your case..😉

turns out i couldnt have put on the wheels anyway.. all the tires were directional and i had 3 right side tires and 1 left side.. the ventus tire had "rotation -->" hidden on the damn thing.. so reallly, if i had seen that i didnt have the required tires, none of this would have happened :|
