i paid $1000 for it, bought it locally. 😀

I haven't check on the insurance for that yet, it's just sitting there for now. It probably gonna cost me around 600/year for liability, i don't know.

dude your DREAMING. I pay $1100/year for my 90 integra.. and I'm 18.

good luck though.

Also that engine doesn't look right; I thought the si's had a 1.8l dohc like my teg??

Only 1.6L - close though.

i'm gonna change the springs and shocks to improve the handling, oh and new brake pads and air intake.

I'm also considering new set of rims and tires but i'm not rushing it as it's almost winter now.

Any recommendations on other mods? I'm not very experience and welcome to all suggetions and comments. 🙂

Other than a new engine? 😉

I'd suggest just getting a nice stereo so you can enjoy your tunes on the road, and putting the rest towards insurance.

I am not ready for an engine swap right now, maybe next summer 😉

How much are b16a and b18cxxxx cost though? how much would the labor normally cost to swap?

Drop in an H22 with turbo and NOS. Also make it a sleeper. It will take out anyone....even an NSX...the car itself is like 1800lbs.

Type R motors are too expensive.

Drop in an B16b

🙂

But with a B18c5, you could put a "Type-R" sticker on it and be telling the truth. :Q

Honestly, I'd say a B16a (2-1/2 grand cheaper) and turbo it. 🙂

Edit - "Cheaper" than the B18c5, not the B16b. Just to be clear. 🙂

Are B18C5s easy to find?

Depends on where you live, but in general, no. That's the JDM Integra Type-R engine - 4cyl, 1.8L, 195HP. 😛

- M4H

Yeah thats what i was thinking... hmmm... might as well go for the unofficial donor engine... an H22... 🙂

You're looking at maybe $2000 for a B16a, and closer to $5000 for the B18c5, installed, cheaper if you've got a greasemonkey friend who owes you a few favours. But considering that you paid $1000 for the car (you LUCKY BASTARD) that might be something you're going to pass over. 😉

If you were to do an engine swap, I'd check the legality (some states you can't put an older engine than the model year) and then go for a blown B16a with about 7psi of boost.

i think you should drop an engine and also turbo it. but dont get nos. since you want to race it at the track. id say get the rims after you drop an engine in there.

Let's get one thing clear, okay?

Heh ... H22 into a CRX would be madly powerful, but also require a fair amount of gutting to fit the Type-S 2.2L into a 1.6L-spec bay. IIRC, someone did an H22-to-5th-gen Civic swap, but I don't know about a CRX.

Civics and CRXs aren't too far apart and I think Hasport has mounts for a H22 in a CRX. That said, B18 or B16 is the way to go.

B16

Okay, maybe I undershot the pricepoint a bit ... can't find an H-series mount from Hasport for the 90 CRX though, only back to the 92 Civic.

Technically, that's an H22A you linked to, which lives in the non-Type-S Preludes and is shortchanged about 20-25hp. What you running it in?

Actually, all H22's are "A"s. The 220 horse version is the H22A4 and it has an open deck design. My block is designated H22A, is closed deck and 200 horses (JDM version). I have it in a '91 Accord.
