No way a pulley, exhaust, and "intake" (which I assume means a CAI) will get a 205HP motor to 260HP.Originally posted by: D3m0nHunt3r
Should hit at least 6.4 in 0-60 and about 14.6 in the quarter. My current car currently hits the 1/4 in about 16.5 lol. Plus you can always get a new pulley, REAL exhaust, and a nice intake and up that HP to at least 260-300.

Its 205hp is more than any of those cars (though for 2005 RSX-S has 210hp).
Whats your point?

My point is we are finally seeing decent power with cars. 250+.
They missed the boat and only managed to squeeze a measely 205 HP out of a supercharged motor.
My old prelude had that and it was a 2.2 normally aspirated motor.
sickening.

Um, the 200hp version sure as hell doesn't start at 14kThe base, powered by a weed wacker motor starts at 14k
Oh and Nik - 89 Accords are hardly zippy. My cousin owns one, my dad owned an 88, and I owned an 88 as well. Don't call what's a slow dog "zippy". It makes me question what cars you consider "fast"

You better hope the Cobalt SS's dyno graph below 5k doesn't complete trounce your Prelude 2.2's.
*cough cough* Dodge 2.4 Turbo *cough cough*American companies can't make a decent motor if their life depended on it. What is wrong with american companies that they can't realize the horsepower war has been going on for a while now.

As if there were any question about that. A prelude doesn't have a torque curve, it has a torque slope.

My prelude was made over 5 years ago with a 2.2 L normally aspirated motor.
And this is what america can come up with?
Like I said, they missed the boat and produced yet another underpowered car when it could have been so much more.

Agreed. My experience with American cars is that the hp is almost always underrated (unlike Japanese, where it is usually overrated). My personal experiences with Ecotec Cavaliers (a heap of sh!t car if ever there was one, but the motor was fine) is that the 140hp rating was more like 140 at the wheels and closer to 160 at the crank.Originally posted by: mAdD INDIAN
is it really 205hp or "205"hp. COuld be underrated.

Get ready for ownage. You will be called out right, about... NOW.
The motor in the dyno was indeed a H22A, but it has the following mods:
DC 4-2-1 headers, 2.5 inch exhaust
Short ram intake.
Head milled 30k

To someone who isn't a BSer, LMK if the Cobalt SS uses the same engine as the Saturn ION redline. I have a SCC issue that I recall had a dyno graph in it.

But wind that SRT out and it was alot of fun.

The engine points the wrong way and drives the wrong pair of wheels.
Sorry, but sports cars do not have front mounted transverse engines. And a true sportscar never has power to the wheels that do the steering. (Yes, I know that I have excluded the current 911 Turbo from this because of AWD, it was a sad, sad, sad day when the last RWD-only Turbo rolled off the line.)

They're still all the same basic curve. I guess I must have been blind when I posted that.
And yes, the Ecotec in the Redline is the same as the SS.
