With my rice cooker, when I get to the "rinsing" step, I just stir the rice in the water. Rice comes out just fine.

I typically use the minute rice in a boiling bag and have never thought of rinsing it either before or after cooking.

i rinse once... fill water to top, swirl, empty, and fill to cooking level... its a compromise to not having all the starch and nutrients washed away, and having dirty or bug infected rice
