And fire the first shot by logging an anonymous complaint with HR about how you feel uncomfortable with how scantily clad the women are dressed. Jeez.
1st remark:  what is so hard to understand ? It's not that it's not appreciated. It can also get us in deep s#!t. We don't work at McDonalds... these are real careers on the line.

2nd remark: go for it!

only if you get caught... and I agree with the OP. There is no practical reason they should be dressed like that for work. They are just being CTs.
So what about when they check out us in "private areas"?
They go to HR... we go to HR... hmm... what's more likely to happen... and then what's more likely to happen ?
I'm going to wear some skin tight thin silk dress pants and substitute viagara for my cheerios.

But since when is it illegal to look at someone? I understand if you're staring and drooling.
You don't even have to take it to the legality level. If they so much as mention to higher-ups that they are being "threatened" by your actions, you're pretty much up the creek with no paddle. Don't believe it ? Many companies don't stand for that kind of thing... they can launch all the investigations they claim ... but in the end... your rep is still done. That's why it is unfair to provoke.

I'm married and still if a woman shows cleavage at the workplace, I would have to make an effort to avoid looking. Maybe that's just me. Maybe I'd like to keep my job too...
EXACTLY! I was working with a manager the other day that's quite atractive the way it is, and I have to give her credit, she usually dresses very conservatively. But on that day, she was showing all kinds of cleavage. So as I'm talking to her, I have to make a conscious effort to look straight from my notebook STRAIGHT back to her eyes, and straight back to the paper. And for those of you that think I'm just a pervert, allow me to let you in on a little secret: ALL MEN ARE LIKE THIS! Those that aren't are either gay (and they usually look too) or just old and devoid of testosterone.

The business environment today is such that there are 2 ways to deal with it.

1. Suck it up.
2. Mention something to HR

The upside to option 1 is that you have cleavage in the office. Sadly, as Ilmater has detailed above, the downside is the very same thing.

Option 2 is basically the reverse. The end result is zero cleavage EVER.

Take your pick - it is one or the other

Why do you care about this? So, you get a quick peek down the blouse every now and then? I don't see a downside to this...

it's somehow MY fault if I can't help but look at your all-but-completely-exposed chests.

Actually, yes, because you CAN help it.

There is a reason that boots like those are called CFM's (in case you don't know, that stands for "come f*** me's").

And what would that reason be? Do you actually think that anyone who wears them is asking you to CFM or is asking to be sexually harrassed?

That would be like saying a man who wears a wife beater is actually guilty of domestic abuse and is asking to be arrested.

All I can do is hope that the original post was meant to be more joking than serious.

Listen, I'll grant that I'm probably over-paranoid about having charges filed against me, but it's not my fault. Once women realized they could file charges against men for truly inexcusable behavior, they did so. But then, SOME (clearly the minority, but still...) women realized they could use it as a way to get quick money. So, now corporations are scared sh1tless and they shove the anti-sexual harassment stuff down our throats. Plus, if you work in any decently large corporation (10,000+ employees), you know of AT LEAST one woman that everyone knew was lying about charges filed and just wanted out.

So where does that leave men? I know there are women out there that will file lawsuits for basically nothing. I know the company will do anything they can to get out of those situations. I also know that my career - and indeed my life - could be fvcked by something as little as be caught looking in a woman's shirt that's HANGING open because she apparently doesn't know how to button it fully. And the worst thing is that the more suggestive they dress, the more likely it is they're doing it on purpose.

Preaching to the choir.
I just find it rediculous they will dress like that and then complain that men look at them.

This is an age old discussion by now, and it makes me happier to work for myself everytime I hear it.

yes you are correct. there is only ONE reason women wear clothing like that.. so men notice them.
I do NOT think that is appropriate dress for the work place. for a club yes, for a professional office no.

In all honesty, i feel bad for men that there is this double standard for women, that they should be allowed to wear "club" clothes to work, yet they do not want to be stared at.

Some of you are just fvcking clueless. One, the rules surrounding sexual harassment are utterly ridiculous these days. Those of you working for corporate American know what I'm talking about. Second, (relating to point #1), yes, it could be considered sexual harassment just glancing at a gap in woman's shirt. So when he said "asking for sexual harassment" he wasn't saying "asking to be raped" or anything remotely similar. Don't be so stupid. He was referring to harassment as defined by HR departments these days. Third, those of you saying "control your hormones" need to just STFU now. Don't fvcking lie and say you wouldn't glance. You would. Don't bother saying otherwise because that would just make you a liar. The same goes for women. You would glance at a man wearing something you considered provocative. [/rant]

Women... NO, WE CAN'T! You have no idea how a guy's brain works. None. I'm not excusing someone that just blatantly stares at your chest, but if you're showing cleavage and you catch me peeking at it, DON'T BLAME ME! I'm not even remotely close to the guy that's uncomfortable to be around, but all guys everywhere are drawn to cleavage. It's a fact. Let me clue you into something: the whole reason cleavage exists is because men like it. Period. So for women to show cleavage and expect men to not look at it is just ignorant.

Once again you're taking this too far. I'm not saying that if I see a girl wearing hooker boots it's ok for me to rape her. All I'm saying is that they're hot and they draw attention. I know that you women know that. In fact, let me tell you a quick story. Last week I was interviewing for my company, and all of the interviewers but me were female. One of them wore those boots, and specifically mentioned that she does that when she does interviews to see how the men handle it. WTF is that? The interview shouldn't have anything to do with that. She was flat-out saying that she's TRYING to get attention drawn to her legs and that she was going to be offended and mad if it worked.

If that's not hypocritical, I don't know what is.

Thank you both very much for understanding. Now can you please tell allisolm that I'm not a dirty pervert that has to wear a bib all day to stop myself from slobbering on my shirts?

CVSiN, are you sure you're a man? Almost all of the other men in here understand what I'm talking about. WTF is wrong with you? Did you lose your sex drive in a freak estrogen accident?

I'll admit that i'm horny and I'm a pervert, but not more than any other man. I'm sorry you're nearly devoid of sex drive, but don't take it out on me by trying to make me look like a pederast or a rapist.
