Also, do know that if you drink beer out of a bottle, that you do not get the full flavor? Your taste buds can only do so much. When your nose is involved, you get the full effect!
College student's best beer: Natural Ice. It's 3 bucks a six pack, tastes like liquid metal and after 2 beers its burning your throat but it gets the job done and quick.
Personally I find stouts and thicker drinks to be more appealing and leave a better aftertaste.
My sister and parents don't understand it-- they talk a sip of what I drink and say "EWWW THATS SO BITTER"
But unlike draft, you never have that alcohol aftertaste in your mouth (especially the morning after). When I drink light beers and draft all I can taste is the alcohol in my mouth, and I hate when it "hits" me. When I try to savour the drink and I want to be sick.
I've never been sick off of Guinness for example (I know thats lightweight compared to Sam Smith)
I still remember my first Guinness, it was so wretched and I thought 'WHY DID I ORDER THIS?' but after my third or fourth time drinking it I've come accustomed to the flavour and have "grown a taste"--I really believe that even though I thought that whole idea was BS before.
