MB and BMW are notorious for the electronics fizzling out after 4-5 years. Not to mention high prices on regular maintance. My friend has a S430 and it was nothing but problems. The 740 V8 engine is very reliable. Here is a list of common problems:
Dead instrment cluster pixel .
Catalytic converters failing
Power steering hoses leaking
Cup holders failing
Radiator failures. Plastic neck breaking
Original Water pumps with plastic impellers failing
thermostat failing
Bolded are common problems with ANY car.
Yes, those are common problems with most vehicle but other vehicle Cats don't cost over $2000 to fix like the BMW 740 or fail as early as 50K miles. But the big grin on your face while driving is worth the money IMHO. Enjoy your new ride.
