Another thing I forget to mention is that I don't think there is any quantity limit on the rebate. I called the customer service at the rebate center and they say that if the rebate form didn't indicate it than is no limit.

The time limit is right on the rebate fine print...you have at least until the end of the year. It has to have the proof of purchase flap..meaning boxed version, and can only be purchased in the US

Thanks for the heads up! I purchased the drive on 6/30/01 for $137.50, and Staples told me they would refund the $50.00. I ended up getting the drive and a pack of 50 fuji cdr's for $35.02. That is a RED HOT deal!

Is there a reason why the yamaha drives are being blown out like that. Makes no sense. Other 16X writers are still going above $100 easy like Plextors. Are there problems with this drive? Makes me wonder...
