XP SP3 Final available now

After installing this SP3, on system properties it says :

Service Pack 3, v 3311. I am not sure if this is the final SP3

I was wondering why I couldn't get to my MajorGeeks a while ago. Now I know...

InlineFive,
MajorGeeks is the most reliable site I'm aware of for downloading freeware/shareware tools. Everything is checked four ways from Sunday before it gets on their servers. But get it from M$ anyway just to take the load off the Geeks' servers. I'd hate to see their bandwidth bill for next month...

Microsoft link hahaha
I think that's a Release Candidate download.
It is in fact the last public Release Candidate digitally signed February 12, 2008 (315MB). The final ENU download is 316MB and digitally signed April 13, 2008. And as mentioned, the MD5 checksum is different, as well.

I just applied SP3 to a newly rebuilt system that basically had nothing on it except freshly installed XP with all post-SP2 updates, latest drivers, and several apps like Ad-Aware, Mcafee VScan Plus 2008, iTunes, Nero 6.6, and PowerDVD 6.0.

Took about 12 minutes to install, one reboot, and completed without a hitch. At least, none that I can tell thus far. I pretty much had everything already, though, including NET Framework 3.0.

Oops, I double-clicked and it submitted two posts. I wonder if that's new. The second click has been disregarded when its happened before.

Damned double post! The post/submit button is a little laggy, so I click it again thinking that my pointer was not inside the active click area.

I'm guessing that the SP3 release has messed up the HotFix process.

I had to request an XP HotFix from Microsoft this week. I'd requested the same HotFix from Microsoft a month ago without incident. But now I need it again, since Microsoft date-limits its HotfFixe downloads.

MS sent the link (which now takes several hours since it's been "automated"), but when I went to download the patch, the MS download server says, "File Not Found". I see that the path for the HotFix includes the subfolder "SP3". I'm thinking that MS has removed the Hotfixes that have been included in SP3, now that SP3 has RTM'd.

I dl'ed from Majorgeeks, installed it and now my computer hangs at the XP slpash screen then reboots. Endless circle. OOPS!
