This deal is going on for quite sometime now. But I did not see it here.
This chip should overclock well. Also these cases look nice and have a good PS.

The case is available in 4 different colors. A higher priced version of this case is also available.

I have the CPU running at 2.1GHz (10.5X200) on an Epox 8RDA+ using a Speeze HSF from newegg. Had a problem with the case when it arrived. The side panel without the window had a big dent on it, so I had to pay to ship it back. I got a replacement 2 weeks later. The power supply on the case isn't very good. It's making a whinning noise and I don't think it will last long. The case is good though because it has good airflow and looks nice. I don't think it's worth $79, but if you're buying the CPU with it, then it's ok, but don't buy it alone.

Nice deal, but you probably could get about the same deal getting the parts individually from other retailers, if you don't like the case / PSU.

What about the 1700+ in this deal. Is this one of the good OC'ers?

At $49 (plus shipping, I'm guessing, since I didn't check), for a T-bred B chip, versus Newegg's 1700+ OEM price of $52 (was $47 last week) and no guarantee of a "B" model from Newegg, I'd say this has to be a pretty good deal on a good overclocking chip. 🙂

Lowest price for a 1700+ OEM chip on Pricewatch is $46 shipped, btw.

No shipping on both the case and the CPU. And they ship by FedEx.

I have a question on overclocking. If I had a 2400+ running at stock speed of 2.0GHz and a 1700+ overclocked to 2.0GHz, would the 1700+ need more cooling than the 2400+?

Possibly, if you increased the voltage on the 1700+ (to a level above what the 2400+ needs) to reach 2GHz. This 1700+ and the 2400+ use the same 'B' core.

Got my 1700+ yesterday. Got up to 2000+ (12.5x133) right out of the box (actually it came in a tray that could hold 4 cpus, never got a cpu in a tray before) at stock voltage! I'll try for more later. Here are the stepping codes:
