This deal is going on for quite sometime now. But I did not see it here.
This chip should overclock well. Also these cases look nice and have a good PS.

CPU Link

The case is available in 4 different colors. A higher priced version of this case is also available.

Case is a RaidMax, all the p/s's are a drop down from RaidMax, it's a safe bet it's a RaidMax.

I have the CPU running at 2.1GHz (10.5X200) on an Epox 8RDA+ using a Speeze HSF from newegg. Had a problem with the case when it arrived. The side panel without the window had a big dent on it, so I had to pay to ship it back. I got a replacement 2 weeks later. The power supply on the case isn't very good. It's making a whinning noise and I don't think it will last long. The case is good though because it has good airflow and looks nice. I don't think it's worth $79, but if you're buying the CPU with it, then it's ok, but don't buy it alone.

What about the 1700+ in this deal. Is this one of the good OC'ers?

it's a good stepping. pretty much guarenteed for 2GHz but it won't go much farther than that.

At $49 (plus shipping, I'm guessing, since I didn't check), for a T-bred B chip, versus Newegg's 1700+ OEM price of $52 (was $47 last week) and no guarantee of a "B" model from Newegg, I'd say this has to be a pretty good deal on a good overclocking chip. :)

Lowest price for a 1700+ OEM chip on Pricewatch is $46 shipped, btw.

No shipping on both the case and the CPU. And they ship by FedEx.

I have a question on overclocking. If I had a 2400+ running at stock speed of 2.0GHz and a 1700+ overclocked to 2.0GHz, would the 1700+ need more cooling than the 2400+?

Possibly, if you increased the voltage on the 1700+ (to a level above what the 2400+ needs) to reach 2GHz. This 1700+ and the 2400+ use the same 'B' core.

Got my 1700+ yesterday. Got up to 2000+ (12.5x133) right out of the box (actually it came in a tray that could hold 4 cpus, never got a cpu in a tray before) at stock voltage! I'll try for more later. Here are the stepping codes:

I got lucky. The 1700 I got from them is running @11.5*200 1.58vcore, 47c load 43c idle.
