After watching this thread since it started, I've been tempted. I finally bit! The X600 sucks in my Dell E510.

Thanks OP!

... now the bad part: the UPC is on the card's connector plate. Has anyone managed to detach it such that "original UPC" could still be submitted? It freaking almost painted there! I mean you can scratch it off bit by bit, but I don't see a way to peel it off as a single piece. Any success stories?

DO NOT REMOVE THE STICKER ON THE CARD ITSELF! You will void your warranty. There is a thread on FW on what to do to submit the rebate (I haven't sent mine in yet....).

This is the thread on FW about this deal. The $25 rebate needs the original serial number label on the box. The $15 rebate needs a copy of the original serial number label.

ETA - Here are the links to the rebate PDFs:
$25 rebate
$15 rebate

XFX can be a pain to deal with for RMA, took them over a month to get me a card, that card was faulty, took them like 6 weeks to get me another.

My bad -- unlike most other rebates this one requires the Serial Number Label, not the UPC (but I've already called buy.com customer service and understood that they're pain in the butt to deal with -- no desire to help whatsoever).

Probably because it's out of stock. Bonus rebate good till 12/25, other rebate is good till 12/31.

I don't need it, but I want it, too... Oh well, let me build my HTPC first, if it's still on sale when I'm finished, I'm buying it.

Anyone know when a new gen/faster video card that can be passively cooled (1 slot solution) will be coming out?

Still works. Trick on OOS buy.com with GCO (well, YMMV on when it will delivery.... and could be hit with CC charge right the way)

1. add item.
2. hit me

Sorry to hear that. You may want to consider RMA'ing directly to XFX. They won't cross ship but you'll have a new card in less than 2 weeks. I had to do this with 2 early launch 7900GT's. Their a bit slow, but they come through.
