Sounds good. I keep getting miffed seeing price differences between the US and Europe. We pay 170 euro's for a e8400. That's roughly 240-250$.

So this is basically a rebranded e8400 right?
Would it work fine in a Gigabyte p35-ds3l?
Also, do the Xeons overclock as well as the C2D?

EDIT: Dang, not eligible for that 5% coupon... I think I used it on an Antec case/PSU deal couple weeks ago. Gonna look around to see if another coupon exists.
EDIT2: Okay, CPU ordered at $200 shipped. Thanks, OP.

Are there any good boards that I can put two of these on? I'd like to have a least one PCI E 2.0 video card - the more slots the better though as I might want to put two video cards and I'm sure they'll take up a lot of space. I was considering a Q9550 - but this might give me better performance - not sure. I do not plan to OC.
Thanks!

This might be what I'm looking for but I don't know if the E3110 will work with this, I don't know if how it compares in performance to a single quad processor at the same clock rate.

I'm looking more for lower temps. Current gaming rig is in an X-Qpack2 which is space-limited for heatsinks. Current CPU is an E4500 at around 3.06GHz. Any higher and it overheats, but on same board outside the case it can do around 3.2-3.3GHz due to lower temps. Board is Asus P5K-VM, BTW. So, lower temps + 3x cache = mo' betta'?
I must have been psychic because I ordered at 1pm, and 5pm found a buyer for the E4500 who approached me asking if I had a spare CPU.![]()

I made up my mind. I'm getting both! (I put in my order for my Xeon 3110 earlier today).

LOL. I didn't and missed the cheaper Buy.com price. I've held out this long, I can hold out a little longer, I think...er....well...
Damn tempting, nonetheless. Maybe I need to build two rigs! :Q
